This course needs a lot of work.
Would not recommend this course. Poorly maintained. Majority of course hasn’t seen a mower for weeks, including tee boxes, fairways, and rough. Bunkers haven’t seen a rake in years. Played this course once last year and it was in bad shape then. Gave it another shot this year and it has not improved. Won’t go back.
Fairways are being redone with zoysia so they are in terrible condition. Rough is rye grass and at least four inches high, could not see Ball a lot of times unless u walked or rode over it. Some greens were fine others were bumpy and slow.
Tee boxes and fairways were horrible. Not worth the money. Won’t be back!
Fairways in horrible shape....Not told this at time of purchase or upon arriving.
I've played this course many times over the years, But Once again, the course fairways were under major repair, and therefore, not mowed for 2-3 days. I just wish courses would let you know this before booking a time. At least, bring down your prices until the course is playable. You either had a strip of barely there, brown grass to hit out of, or something that looked like my backyard with dandelions aplenty to hit out of. Greens were in good shape, a bit bumpy, but I can live with that. Course layout lends to slow play (driveable par 4's, some blind approach shots, etc.) but the weather was perfect and so no one complained. Every fairway was bad... just wish they would have told us that at the course, and I would have gladly gone somewhere else and let their fairways heal.
Still a goat pasture
No sense playing this course until the zoysia fairways come in. The layout is old and dangerous with numerous parallel fairways, so you'll be dodging wayward shots all day long. Greens had just been aerated, so they need another two weeks as well. Sand traps unraked, no water on the course and the teeboxes were nonexistent. My $26 rate was about twenty dollars too much. Spend a few dollars more, if necessary and play a real golf course where you won't have to worry about grazing goats!
Course was in rough shape
They resodded the fairways last year, and they are still a disaster. Giant vertical lines of varying green/brown grasses run up & down the fairways. Not sure if they can't mow this yet, but the fairway grass length was almost as thick as the rough. Also, the greens had been aerated within the last month or so, and were still quite bumpy. Worst of all, there were NO WATER COOLERS on the course. It was almost 80 degrees when I played, and this is unacceptable, especially since they don't have a beverage cart. On the turn, I inquired about the lack of coolers on the course, and both guys in the Pro-Shop did apologize. However, they claimed that one of the marshals had been sick lately. This was a ridiculous excuse, as the marshal that was driving around the course that day (and hanging out by the Pro-Shop) could have easily dropped off some water at the empty cooler stations. This is the fifth time I've played this course, and I won't be back until mid-late summer. Hopefully the course conditions will have improved by then.
Great Value
Got a tee time for $21. Staff was great. They let us go out on the back so we wouldn't have to wait behind a large group. Fairways were striped but still playable and the greens were in good shape. Course is wide open and enjoyable. Not super challenging, but always a good time.
Fairways under repair. Resodding made it difficult to keep pace.
Could get better
They are in the middle of putting zoshia in their fairways and have strips missing from some fairways. Will definitely make it a nicer place to play. Greens were a little shaggy but in good shape
Royal Meadows
The course was in great shape and challenging. The green sere in outstanding shape and putted well. I will play it again.

Pace of play
Only issue with this course is pace of play, at peak business times you can experience up to a 5 hour round of golf. The marshalls do everything they can it's just a great course for beginners and high handicappers so balls are flying all over the place. Will play again more than once. Just avoid the peak times
You get what you pay for
This is a great course to take buddies who aren't looking for a serious round. Don't be in a hurry though - we teed off 20 minutes late and had several long waits between holes.
Conditions
This is by far the worst course I played in the Kansas City area this year , the course is in horrible condition fairways and greens are all messed up . Was a total letdown to a course that I usually like
Good Course, Great Value
Course was in best condition of the 5 I've played in KC area this summer. Wish course had a driving range, but overall a good experience.
