Forest Park Golf Course

It’s a classic. Great course to get out and play at last minute notice

For a public course in NYC, Forest is one of the better courses to play. They maintain the rough and fairways pretty well and there are some holes that will definitely challenge you regardless of your handicap. In top of that their manager Bob is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. Eveytime I play, I always enjoy chatting with him after my round. He's given me some tips and went out of his way to get me a logo ball for the course. They were on backorder for months but he took one from his own bag just so I can add it to my collection.

This course is very well run, from the conditions of the course. the golf cart, the pro shop, the staff and pace of play. Will definitely play again. They don't sell food at the clubhouse so bring your own. As for the level of challenge - it's not narrow, has reachable greens, some sand and some water, and moderately difficult greens, so.a nice variety of challenges without being overly hard for a player like myself (a little past newbie).

Enjoyable course. I play here a lot. But the tee boxes on several holes are just mud and need attention.

I was grouped with three beginners, on a busy friday, and the starter had to tell them to get moving. They were just learning how to hold and swing the driver and one was a first timer. I had no option but to usher them along for the first few holes until they figured it out. I actually surprised myself and shot 13+ for 83.
