Dunwoodie
Difficult terrain for walking,
grass long, difficult to find your ball..
missing some arrows to direct you to next hold.
bar and food: very good
It's not easy to find the ball on the fairway and worse in the long grass
I went on a bad day(fathers day)
At my 4 pm tee time, there were 6 carts ahead of me. Two parties of 4(all friends) had never played before and combined into a group of 8. In violation for the rules, they brought their own beer and left a trail of empty cans all over the course. No ranger in sight to help us.
We quit after 9 rather than continue to follow them.
Disappointing afternoon
We teed off 25 minutes after our scheduled tee time with no explanation or apology from the starter. Pace of play was extremely slow on the front nine and only slightly better on the back, after two groups ahead of us quit after nine. I generally enjoy playing this course but not so much on this day.
First timer
Really nice course for a public course. Ofc I didn't expect the crowd on a wed morning but the back 9 was a breeze.
Different challenges on front & back 9s
The front nine is very tight and you could easily go without using a driver or three wood for most of those holes. There’s a little bit more room to miss on the back nine.
You can definitely walk this course since it’s barely 6000 yards and the hills are mostly on the front. Nine conditions were fine on Memorial Day and for a place that must get a ton of play. It was in good condition.
Back patio area overlooks the 10th tee and the bar inside was well appointed and quick to serve at the turn.
well kept course
my local course is in great condition, the 9th green and 4th are very quick and make sure you get about 10 feet on green or ball will rool back down hill
Easygoing morning, good condition
Course was in good shape here. Greens were pretty quick, fairways/tees/bunkers were in pretty good shape. Pace was pretty quick on this Wednesday morning, got around in about 3.5 hours, maybe a bit less. Dunwoodie is a good, reliable option close to the city. Definitely will be back.
Strategy vs Length
Dunwoodie is hilly, with fast small greens, no crazy undulations but lots of sloping greens. Requires more precision than distance. Good conditions for a public course.
Very good not great
Very good Course but could not use golf cart so took a very long time
