The Club D
A little gem overlooking NYC
Shot makers course, thinking required
Not bad course conditions in the later half of October. Got a late afternoon start on a Sunday so I didn't expect to finish. Despite its short length, this track will definitely test your accuracy. From tee shots to approaches, solid shot making is a must or you could lose your ball. Definitely a place that will frustrate someone who uses a driver on all par fours and fives. Great local track for Westchester residents and not a bad change of scenery for NYC residents as well.
Decent for a weekday round.
The course was in average condition. Some spots needed repair, a couple of greens have bare spots. Only a couple of spots were unplayable. Totally expected for fall golf on a city course.
The good: The carts have GPS built in. It's nice to click on the screen and know exactly how far to the pin.
The bad: The carts have GPS built in with control of the golf cart. There are 'no go' areas of the course you can't take the carts. While some of the areas make sense, like the fringe, other spaces are just baffling, like driving down the rough on one fairway.
These areas aren't notated on the gps screen until you enter one of them. When you enter these areas, you have to REVERSE OUT of the zone. You can't turn around and drive forward, you can only go only in reverse. (Guys on the next tee box loved the reverse beeeeeeeeeep.) It also makes you back out at about 2mph. Once you clear the forbidden zone, it reverts back to full-speed reverse without warning.
The driving range is nice, lots of stalls and a bucket of 70 balls is $6. Didn't try the food or the bar.
The course was fun enough after 18 we did another 9 holes.
Fairways are narrow in places.
Narrow but fair
I played dunwoodie because I usually play split rock but they were having an event that day and dunwoodie was only an extra few miles away. I was pleasantly surprised too because the course was beautiful and had some good opportunities for a high handi capper like myself to get close to the hole and actually score! However the shortness is balanced out by the narrowness as well... So if you're hitting them straight you're golden and especially on the few drivable par 4s and short par 3s. The staff and people were also friendly and the carts have GPS which I love because you're not looking for markers or whit blue and red posts to decide a club to use. I don't have a range finder so big plus for me. I like this course a lot so I def. recommend it.
Course needs work!!!!
Fairways and greens in poor condition.Saw a group of SEVEN(7) out in the fairway on 16 tearing it up with carts and clubs..Not good. Then they all drove right up to the Green and had a party on it. That's when I realized why every hole had a big mark next to each cup. These clowns smashed the flag right next to the cup. Some cups were dislodged. The rangers saw this group moving around and did nothing. Dunwoodie is Dunwoodie. What more can I say.Hope to not see that group again. CHEERS!!
We're so sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your round with us! We will certainly pass along the information you provided.
Great staff but, course needs work
Staff was great and super friendly and helpful. Greens were painfully slow and the course has some very poor areas. It is a county course but, investing a little money in it good make it a great course.
As for the layout, it is short and tight. Straight long irons are key to scoring low.
Bernie4340869,
Thank your for taking the time to leave a review! We are certainly glad that that staff was friendly and helpful. As for the conditions, we are constantly trying to improve them. We hope to see you soon.
Cow farm
Book tee time through goldnow, courses was on terrine shape. Greens any fairways were burnt up. Had to wait 30 min to the up on the firstly hole. Entire course was terrible, requesting goldnow to refund the green fees. Mgmt did not state the course condition

Usually so awesome.
Usually this course is awesome but I have never seen it In this poor of shape. The fairways were destroyed and the greens were even worse. Very disappointed.

All was great but the greens
All was great except the greens were best up and looked like they haven't been cut in weeks
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're glad that you enjoyed your round and we will certainly pass along your feedback on the greens. We hope to see you again soon!
Good Public Course
Good course. Some challenging spots. No water but fairways are somewhat narrow. Carts are GPS which is a plus if you don't have your own.
Thanks for your review! We're glad you enjoyed our course and even got a bit of a challenge out of it! Thanks for playing and hope to see you soon.
Cute little course
First off, it's 5,800 yards from the tips , but still a very fun and at times challenging course. It's my favorite course within 30 minutes of my Apt, so go here during the week to practice and play. It this capacity I find this course to be perfect. I don't often go during the weekend, so can't speak to golf under more stressful conditions, but based on my experience, this place is a great value! If like me you keep seeing it pop of on your Golf Now searches, I would say give it a try, you might enjoy it. Certainly won't regret it.....
Thank you for your review, Ethan! We are glad you've enjoyed your rounds with us and find Dunwoodie to be your favorite! Keep on coming back, we love having you on our course!
Weekend golf at Dunwoodie
This is a fun, albeit short course. Lots of variety in the holes, lots of different shots called for. Pace of play is awful, largely because the way they book tee times every 8 minutes, which is guaranteed to result in rounds over 5 hours. The is made worse by the first hole is a very short par 4 that all sorts of people endeavor to drive, which causes great delays at the first tee. As people are looking for their balls in the trees. As the starter said, its engineered to fail.
So sorry about the slow pace of play! Thank you for reviewing us, we will take your feedback into consideration in order to improve our course as a whole.
Great Father's Day Special
The course was well kept, the staff was great. The pace was frustratingly slow with the on board scoring/GPS telling us we were 23 mins behind the approved pace. The option to order food en route to the club house on the 9th hole was innovative. The food was reasonable in price and delicious.
Thanks for the review, Alexander! We apologize for the slow pace of play and otherwise hope you had a happy Father's Day on our course!
Dunwoodie
Always a fun course to play. Sloped fairways make shaping shots important too low scores. Can be a little slow, but lucked out today first group out after a shot-gun outing. Not a soul in front of us.
Thank you for the review, u1707394855! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your time here!
Solid Golf
One of the reasons I love Dunwoodie is that it's basically two courses in one - the front nine is more of a shot-makers course, then the back nine opens up and lets you take rips off the tee without fear of having the ball in the OB.
Only real negative from this round was that they were running out of carts, so they were behind by 30 minutes or so. Once we got on the course the pace was great.
Thank you for your patience while we procured you a cart and we're glad to hear that you enjoyed your round with us! Please come and see us again soon!
Shot makers course, thinking required
Despite being a sub 6,000 yard track, there are several features the make this course a little more difficult. Conditions were great being a public course. Tee boxes fairways and greens were in better than decent shape. With narrow fairways, small greens, and elevation changes, big hitters will have a hard time trying to muscle varies holes. Some par 4's and the par 5's are definitely reachable. Staff and regulars I got paired with were friendly and would most definitely play again.
Thank you for the great tips and advice! We love hearing from our golfers and hope you'll play here again soon!
Great Deal
Great deal to play a round with a cart for $33. Course was in great condition, only complaint is that is plays really short.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
Dunwoodi
This course was decent. Uncut rough and up & down hills made it extremely difficult to find your ball even when it was hit around the fairway.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, Andrew! We appreciate the feedback and hope to see you again soon!
Good course
The 1st tee was a little backed up but pace of play picked up as you went along. Course was in decent shape. Greens were a little inconsistent and on the slower side. I prefer greens that are quicker but overall their maintenance was good.
Thank you for the feedback, Christophe! We're continuously working to perfect our conditions and we hope you'll play us again soon!
not that nice of a course i booked a tee time and showed up two minutes late and they just gave away my tee time and said the next tee time is in an hour the grass is very high the fairways are not very good the greens are on and off overall this is the worst course
