Friendly and nice mountain course
Course was in great condition. Staff very friendly. First time playing so layout was unknown but matched with 2 others who gave helpful tips.
Beautiful Views
Probably the most scenic course in NC but definitively needs some TLC Greens are fine the rest needs work.
High Vista has beautiful vistas
What a pleasant surprise. Although it was hot, the generous shade and cool mountain breeze helped keep things bearable. There are some great views across the valley which made coming out of the tea box a surprise.
Great progress
First time playing and several regulars told us how the course was before. I love the layout. It’s difficult but fun. Will be back. Considering a membership.
Good conditions
From the past reviews, this golf course seems to be making a comeback. I understand it was closed for some time and you can tell that a lot of improvements have been made. . Greens were in great shape. Great challenge of playing a number of narrow fairways and greens on many of the front nine holes. Some fairways and tees need some work but do not let that stop you from playing chestnut mountain. This is a must play in the Asheville area.
Perfect Mountain Golf
1st Time playing Chestnut Mountain.
Course is laid out very well. Very hilly, but to be expected when playing in the mountains.
Course is being revamped and there is still some work to be done.
Course needs some sort of layout guide, as some holes were quite a distance apart.
Hilly with great views!
Cool, private course that public can book online. Note it is in a gated community to make sure to call Pro Shop for gate code.
Course is challenging with lots of elevation change and many blind spots. Requires some thought off the tee to place shot in fairway rather than blast away. Greens were a little fuzzy and slow.
Overall a good challenge
Nice round
out as a single - joined up with one other golfer - we had a great round. Course gave us both a little challenge and forced us to play golf! Strategy in club selection etc. Nice round.
Beautiful mountain course
The course is relatively difficult with narrow fairways and greens. The tees were in rough shape and the greens were very slow but we had lots of rain and they may not have mowed for a few days.
Great Course
Awesome time playing this course.
A gem in North Carolina
I was extremely pleased with Chestnut Mountain, beautiful course, with a great design, and many vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Looking forward to returning to play again.
1st time here w/ new owners
First time here in probably 4 years. They are doing some remodeling so I had a hard time finding the clubhouse. I went to the old clubhouse and didn't pay attention to the signage. Look for the sign and you will get to the clubhouse. Most fairways are in decent shape. Some are still being fixed. The greens are awesome. You can tell that they are putting sweat equity into the course. There are a few holes that are extremely tight. Some that are wide open. Some holes you need to be strategic and some that you can grip and rip. This is definitely a course I will play again
Will be a gem
You can tell this course was not taken care of for a while. We loved the layout of the course. The tee boxes need a lot of work. Greens were soft and slow. Fairways were decent but need a little time to fill in. You can definitely tell they are working on the it. Very nice views. Need some more signage around the course. A few times we felt like we were driving through the community randomly. Overall, this course will be nice in a couple years. Decent now as long as your expectations arent over the moon
