Great Course!

Had to make a trip to Greenville. Thought why not play some golf while I'm up there. Course was in immaculate condition. Tee boxes were large and flat, fairways were green, soft, and tight, the greens were tight and slick. Pin placement made the course a little challenging. Overall. GREAT COURSE! I would play again and definitely recommend.

Needs marshal to regulate play

Decent course, but plagued with bad course etiquette, fivesomes, and slow play.

Nice course w/fun greens

My fourth or fifth time at Ayden. As this was a winter visit, I expected the fairways to be soft not firm as we have had some rain of late. The course proved to be in excellent shape, the greens firm and fast (challenging your reading skills), the bunkers have real sand (not winter mud), and the fairways - fully playable, the ball getting a good roll on the drives. We played from the "Green" tees - a mix of your standard white (members) and gold (senior) for about 5,800 yds. This course is one of my local faves that I love to visit from time to time.

Return trip was better than 1st

Second time playing here. The course is in great shape with some of the best greens I’ve ever played. The staff and grounds crew were super cordial. Well worth the 50 min drive. This is an older course that does have a few bumps in the literal cart paths. Will be back to play again. One thing - pace of play can be a little slow at times, but not a deal breaker by any means.

Greens come back? I agree the greens are typically the best in public courses around Greenville area. I played in June and was concerned with some brown/bare spots. Ironwoods greens have been horrible since I've lived in Greenville. I volunteered there my 1st summer here. Hole 12 was perfect.

Hidden gem in Eastern Nc

Played this course for the first time today. Was cart path only due to heavy rains the evening before. That did not keep the greens from being the best I have ever rolled a putt on! The course is older but is well thought out. The staff was helpful in getting me setup to play. Plan to make this at least twice a year treat!

Sunday 7/25

Overall a great day. The staff could be a little more cheerful to welcome guests. Pace of play was fine; I am never in a rush to finish a round of golf. It took my foursome about 4 hours to complete the round; 1 1/2 for the front and then the back got slowed by a group ahead of us.

Beautiful day and nice value track

Visit to see family and carved out a bit of time and only needed about 3hrs to get through it. Nothing special but was fun to get out and play local. Most tee boxes were pretty rough and at least a handful of greens had bare spots.
