Pleasant Surprise
It has been a couple of years since I have played this course and was I amazed.
From the soon to be completed club house to the cart paths to the general condition of the course it was a surprise.
Except for the construction dust, unavoidable, it was a great afternoon of golf.
Can’t wait to see the finished product. Planning a return trip soon. Hats off to the city of St. Peter’s for their efforts.
They are completing a complete new construction of the banquet, pro shop and restaurant facilities. It will be beautiful!!
Bad nats
Course was in good shape. The only problem was the flies were around us continually while we played our round. Don’t think they can really do anything about that
Conditions
Course is in good shape. Parking lot and club house are under construction and kind of a mess. Course will be great in the spring when everything is done
Good value
Some of the fairways are a bit barren but overall an enjoyable round. Appears they are working to improve the overall conditions of the course. Will play again.
Well kept, mature trees, tricky hazards
Great value and a nice gem for St. Louis metro. Clubhouse currently going through a reno which looks great. Friendly staff and other golfers around the course.
Improved
St. Peter’s is drastically improved over the last few years with better cart paths, bridges, fairways and they are adding a snack bar at the turn- great idea. Site lines are much better after clearing out lots of brush. Greens were recently aerated so kind of bumpy and much slower than the practice green. There are still the problems with side by side fairways being scary- need to be alert on 3,6,7, and 17. Definitely worth the hot deal rate.
Great Course!
The course and staff were great! I would definitely recommend this course and would play there again.
St. Peter’s golf course
His course has seen major improvements in last few years. And still getting better. It’s not a tough course but yet a beginner can enjoy as well as seasoned avid golfer. It’s not quite as easy as scorecard may suggest. And greens are in better shape than most courses.
Pace of play terrible
The course is is pretty good shape and layout is good..however group in front was 6 some that were all taking 2 shots off the tee and spent way too long looking for balls..no staff riding around in carts to assist..after 3 and a half hours and only making it through 12 holes i left the course..very disappointed in first gold outing of the year and first outing to this course..has happened in past as well..
Still the best greens around
It's my home course, so I am biased.
Everything is turning brown and dormant, but that's true of all courses now.
The greens remain in remarkable condition and still offer the best roll in the area. If you miss a putt here, it's on you.
New superintendent has done a fabulous job, and he is just getting started.
Put this course high on your list for next year, if not over the winter when temperature permits.
Consistently good value course and consistently upgrading
I am prejudiced because I play here often and this is my "home course," but the new Superintendent does a fantastic job keeping this course in outstanding condition.
My partner, also a regular, and I both observed that this was he best the course has ever been in the fall. The putting surfaces are the best in the area available to the public. If you hit a bad putt here, it's on you.
This course is constantly upgrading and putting alot of money into the facility, lately a large amount of zosia fairway sod in a former problem area.
Great value for the money at regular senior prices; a "steal" with a hot time.
Pace of Play!!!
Managed to play the 17holes available with a trip across the pond at the turn in under 3.5hrs! The threesome in front of me let me play through at the first par3 and I never caught the twosome in front of them, weather was picturesque with just enough breeze to play irons off almost every tee box but question some of the on course distance markers.
