Best value
I'm not sure why this port is not very active anymore, but it is definitely a best value
Too many tee times
This was the worst case of greed I have seen at a golf course. There were some holes that had two groups of four (walking) and a group of school kids (about 15) going off the starting hole. This is all good and fine but I don't think they should have had an open tee sheet. I was hit into twice, once while I was chipping green side and end up only playing 16 holes. This still took a little over 5 hours, in which there was a two hole span that took 57 minutes.
Great pace for f the lay
Finished the round as a single in about 2 hours qnd 15 minutes. Course was fun and fairly short. Errant Anita are dangerous as holes are pretty close together. Some tough spots in low ar as but rain has everything green and greens rolling well
Good day
Thank you to the Front desk person for dealing with me being late course was way better than it used to be had a good time.
This course is great for the money
The course is well-maintained and offers some tight play. It's a pretty straight course without much elevation change but they offer fairly cheap tee times.
Potential to be a great course!
Its under construction and I played after a rainy week, on a gloomy spring day by myself. Not fair to give the course a bad review. It has great potential to be a great course! I will definitely try it again when its all completed. Everyone is so friendly out there, staff was great, I got a great hot deal, I enjoyed myself, what's there to complain about!?! When you get to play golf, life is great!!!
Not a good experience
We arrived at the course only to be told that the front nine was punched and sanded the day before and the back nine was being treated as we were playing. There was no offer to compensate the fact that the greens were practically unputtable.
Working
They have been doing a lot of work on the course. Getting better every time I play out there.
Fine place to play a round with friends
I must say up front that this is my "home course," so I am somewhat biased. However, my friend and I play a lot of courses in this area, so we are qualified to say this: St. Peters has the best greens in the area. We just took a golf trip to Ocala, Florida. Neither of us can putt Bermuda greens worth a shanked wedge; but all that did was remind us how much we missed the greens at St. Peters Golf Club.
The City has been doing extensive work improving the drainage and flood control through rock work on the creek that runs around the course. New cart paths have been installed in some areas. A new green on #8 (to the left of the old green) will be open this spring. Get a Hot Deal at this course for a fantastic value; you will come back.
Great Outing
Course was in great shape, especially the greens for this time of the year. Will definitely be back.
Great time in St. Peters
Enjoyed playing this course for the 1st time. The only drawback was the construction going on that was a distraction on a few holes. Tough to play your shot with backhoes beeping and rumbling. I'll be back though for sure.
For the price it's great
It's hard to review a course under construction and off season. They are doing construction to improve the course but for the price it's great. It's confusing at times to find the next hole. One hole isn't playable due to construction. No beverage cart the day we golfed. It was a Friday in the middle of November but it was a government holiday and was lots of people out golfing. The clubhouse is only close to hole 1 and 18 so to go get a beverage it's somewhat a pain. Also, NO driving range to warm up.
Course under repair
One of the holes (#8) had a temporary green and two had temporary tees which significantly shortened the holes.
Beware
Hole #8 was closed. Could not find #9 tee box, no proper directional signs. Other players also had trouble.
Cart restrictions due to wet course conditions.
Some greens were recently aerated and were not smooth putting conditions.
The "Hot Deal" tee time was right after the morning Ladies League. Play was drastically slow. Luckily, the league only played 9 holes. We were a twosome, and eventually joined by a single player who was going to play thru but had no where to go! It took over 5 hours to play the full round!!! Pro Shop should have told us to play the back nine first!
Overall: Almost a bad day at the golf course!
Decent municipal course, improving
St. Peters has improved lots of areas over the last several years making it more enjoyable. The cart paths and bridges and creek areas are much better. The Tee boxes are all in pretty good shape. the fairways are decent although there are several areas that are somewhat bare, and lots of thin areas owing to the flooding from the nearby creeks. If you are playing the ball down, that makes for some poor shots. If you play "winter rules' and move the ball to a decent spot, you will be fine. The greens are in pretty good condition- consistent speed, few bad areas. It's an enjoyable course, with a few danger spots with several fairways running next to each other- #7 and #17 especially.
