Slow play, older crowd
Slightly older crowd lends to a slow play. When wide open, you can play this easy course in 2hrs I would imagine. Cheap course to go out and slap the ball around on. Not much for challenge.
good course. to play
The course is making improvements . That is s good thing to do.to improve play.
Good course to practice on.
Played on Memorial Day. Very slow play as would be expected. Cart path only due to the rain we had a week ago. Fairways still pretty soggy. Bunkers need to be refilled or sand replaced as most of them were just solid mud. Greens in pretty good shape.
Cart Paths need attention...
The course has recovered fairly well from last year's drought. The cart paths are really suffering. No snack bar after 9 holes, no courtesy hostess selling refreshments so stock up at the snack bar. The course layout is fairly tight so expect an occasional visitor from neighboring fairways. The course is marshy with all the rain that has fallen as of late. The rough is fairly thick. If I had to fix one thing it would be the cart paths that have deteriorated.
Course is a little tight for 18 holes
Overall it was a good pace of play considering the course was "cart path only".
What Gives!!??
My friend and I (along with his young child) went to St. Peters yesterday to golf 18 holes. The price was right (it usually is) and the weather was great, so we figured no problems at all.
We have brought his kid to numerous golf courses over the last year or so and have NEVER had a problem. Not even so much as a cross look.
We expected this to be the case at St. Peters. it is no different than any other course in almost every way.
The one difference is inexcusable and I will NEVER EVER EVER golf there again.
Somehow, this course has an AGE LIMIT of 8 YEARS OLD!!!!!!!!
Needless to say, in order to grow the sport, you need new blood to keep things strong. Apparently St. Peters is not interested in anything other than rules and regulations, golf and all other things be darned.
So I guess if little Tiger Woods or Baby Phil Mickleson from all the commercials and videos would not be welcome at this golf course.
I will never golf at St. Peters again, even if they offer to pay me to play there.
In the past, the course has been nice enough. Decent pace of play and well enough maintained to merit a decent rating. I suppose if treating people rudely and barring children from playing golf is your cup of tea, play at St. Peters. You will be in good company.
DON'T TRY TO BRING KIDS
I didn't play St.. Peters today because of a rule that says that you can't bring a kid who is under 8 years old on the course!!
Never heard of that rule but won't play there again. It's kind of a dog track anyway
Tight fairways on this course.
This is not a terribly difficult course. Several holes with water hazards to work around. Only a challenge for us hackers. Need to be alert as fairways are tight, and golfers are often in each others way.
Close and Convienent, right price!
This course is not the best course, but it's very close and convienent on a January morning when it's going to be 60 degrees and you haven't played golf in 3 months, and you want to get out and play. The greens were in great shape, and the tee box(tips) were in good shape. The speed of play was excellent, and overall, I had a great round. I will return to this course in the future.
There are better deals.
With all the deals availablle around the area, there are much better courses to play for less money. (Aberdeen, Mo. Bluffs, G.C. of Wentzville, The Falls.) This is a good course for the beginner.
Course was in great shape. The fairways are a little close to each other in spots
Had a great time on the course, and the value for the price was very good
Good city owned course
Since the City of St. Peters took over the course the maintainence has been very good. The next project needs to be the bunkers; they are in dire need of re-working. The greens are in good shape considering the amount of play seen at this course.
