About
Rock Barn Golf & Spa offers two championship courses, one designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and the other by Tom Jackson. Nestled within the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the golf courses are provided with swiftly moving brooks and sparkling lakes that accent the wooded hills and lush, grassy meadows. The Jackson Course tumbles across picturesque valleys, offering both dramatic elevation changes and beautiful scenery. The layout is shorter and less demanding than the Jones Course but it is a challenge nonetheless. The undulating terrain demands accuracy and perfect ball placement. Fast greens are balanced by generous fairways. Water hazards also come into play. The course starts out intimidatingly with a narrow, uphill par 5 but the rest of the course is not quite as daunting.

Great Course
Course was in good condition being it was the middle of winter. Greens were excellent and rolled true.
Will be back in the summer.
Great greens
Fairways, sand traps and roughs were in good condition. Greens held the approach shot, rolled true, and were moderately fast. Challenging course if played from the correct tees.
Great course
Play here every thanksgiving.Great layout, greens running great. Tee boxes a little beat up but it’s November.
JR golf day
Pace of play influenced by jr tournament in front of me. Dble stacked tees on the back 9. Staff was super about the delay and compensated me for the lost golf. and they didn't have to do that. Bravo

Jackson course is in great shape! Fairways are beautiful and greens rolled great!
High level facility
Amazing course, decent shape, could be a little more tidy on and around the greens, and tee boxes, but the price equals the value. Highly recommend. Would go back every week in the current conditions. Would pay $80 easy if it were in top shape. Pro shop lacks character and any decent merchandise at all. Very dull. Those are just picky critiques. Absolutely go play.
