About SpokaneWith one of the strongest value-oriented municipal golf systems in the country, Spokane is an under-the-radar destination. Three Spokane County courses offer pristine conditions and friendly vibes for less than $50, and the penchant of locals to bring their own golf carts reflects the quirk of the greater area.
Of the four City of Spokane layouts, Indian Canyon Golf Course is the standout. Dating to 1935, it is a pure Northwestern course with tall trees lining fairways and plenty of challenge and slope on the greens. Thanks to a multi-million-dollar renovation project in 2018 and 2019, "The Canyon" is set up for more decades of enjoyment by locals and visitors.
Spokane is also a great jumping-off point to several other Pacific Northwest golf hotspots. Gamble Sands is two hours west and Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, is just an hour east.

Simply put, Circling Raven Golf Club is one of the best golf courses in the Pacific Northwest and certainly one of the best public golf venues in the country. Golf, at its best, is a commune with nature. Great golf means there's little or no out-of-bounds, you don't notice homes and you get to hit all your clubs. Circling Raven comes through on all accounts.

The latest college golf course to open is also one of the best college courses in the country. If nothing else, Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash. is a feast for the visual senses, leaving you spanning the hills, wondering where the best angles are to land your tee shots or approaches, allowing you to free-wheel a shot, which this course encourages.
