Always Enjoy Playing Here
The greens are just getting better and better and so are the tee boxes. The pace was wicked fast that day and finished 18 in 2.5 hours. I just really enjoy the beauty of the course and the layout. It is challenging but not too difficult for a beginner/intermediate golfer.
Great mountain course
For a winter/spring golf, course in pretty good shape kind of dry ,traps were hard. No food service ( closed for the winter)
First Timers
Parking lot to pro shop was poor, no greeting, no range balls before tee time due to event. Pace was excellent. Course design was challenging and enjoyable.
Really Love This Course
The weather was absolutely stunning, which made the day playing Cleghorn even better. The greens were in very good shape and pin placement challenging but not overly difficult to stop a putt close to the pin and not have it roll back 40 yards. The pace was great, no waiting, and no one backed up on us either. The water always comes into play on several holes so that makes it challenging. 16 is still down, so we play the previous par 3 twice. There is a need to have ball washing stations around the course as there are none. A couple tee boxes need some love, but overall, the course was in excellent shape.
Time for change
We have played this course for 2 years and it’s fun and challenging but today 70.00 for 17 holes since 16 was lost to the hurricane just didn’t feel right!
Cleghorn
Overall in very good shape for winter time play. Greens fast and roll true. Hole 16 closed and under repair. Would definately play again
Interesting course with nice conditions
Greens roll wonderfully and tee boxes in great shape. The friendly and helpful young lady who was somehow pulling off working every visible job on the course except for the pro shop and bar made for a wonderful experience. She took care of us all day, bringing out our clean carts, starter duties, made the rounds three times as ranger and asked about our experience and cleaned the carts the moment we returned. This place is high value, good conditions, and enjoyable golf.
This course is beautiful
Played a round of 18 at 11:30 on a Sunday in march and it was beautiful and completely worth the money. Will be coming back and bringing friends!
Good and challenging course
Good course to check out, great views. Hole 16 was wiped out by hurricane Helen (needs to be repaired). Besides hole 16 being MIA, overall good course to play for your buck!
Only 17 holes
Only 17 holes, Hole 16 damaged during hurricane, No effort to repair the whole.
OK hole #16 is still closed…I don’t care!
Hole #16 is closed. Just putting that out there but who cares? If you’re looking for a great day of golf then experience Cleghorn. Course is in “winter shape” but the fairways and greens are very good. Pace of play is up to you, no waiting, no pushing.
For an accurate review I will mention the bunkers and cart paths need attention.
I recommend this course and I will return also.
Great course
So many good things to say about this course! Second time playing and it is well worth the hour+ drive. Only issue is they still don't have a 16th hole. Wish this course was closer to me, I'd be there every week
Will be back again!
I had been wanting to try Cleghorn for quite some time. I used my points to get a pretty good deal.
I was a little concerned I'd feel "slighted" since Hole 16 is still closed, but that is nowhere near the case. This course is kept in tip top shape, even in the middle of January. It was cold and windy, so I had the course to myself pretty much, which was AWESOME. The views are beautiful, the layout is challenging/fun, and it's very well kept. I will definitely be back and I am excited to see what the course looks like when it's nicer out.
Mostly solid holes. A few great ones (11 and 15). Does suffer a little from McMansion development encroaching into what could be a more scenic environment. And some of the bunkering and green design is that early 20th century overcooked style. Very playable. Wide enough off the tee and bigger greens. Did use almost all the clubs in the bag. Pro shop was super nice and the I had the course to myself which was a dream.
Great shap
Even though it's almost Thanksgiving, the course was in great shape. Yes dormant grass but it wasn't patchy like the other course in the area. Hurricane Helen took out the par 3 16th so we played 2 balls on another par 3. We played as a twosome in 3 hours even though it was 70 degrees we had the course to ourselves. They may he priced a little high because the other courses were packed.
Will play there again.
Really fun and challenging course layout. Greens were super fast. Course was in great shape for the fall. Only bad thing is the got rocked by the flooding and Hole 16 is gone. So playing 17 holes right now.
