White Plains Golf Club

Beautiful course, beautiful club house! Very well kept.

This course is a hidden gem that's an easy 45 minute drive from Charlotte. The course is not difficult, but has enough challenges to keep you on your toes. My buddy and I have played here 5 times now, and each time has been great....

Except this time. There were a few things that were serious problems.

1. The 2nd cut of rough was ridiculously thick and in a lot of places overgrown...like it hadn't been mowed in weeks. The ball would settle down so deep that it became very difficult to find, resulting in time wasted looking for your ball.

2. The holes on the greens look like they were cut with a dull blade. Either that or the people in front of us were using their clubs to dig their ball out of the cup. The edges of the cup were chewed up pretty bad, and putts that should have rolled in were sometimes deflected.

3. The GEO fencing of the golf carts was drawn by a prankster. The starter told us "there's no restrictions today", and there's no signage that says "Cart Path Only This Hole" when we had the trouble...but several times we had our carts warn us, then stop while we were in the middle of a perfectly normal fairway. A few times the cart was yelling at us that we were out of bounds while we were ON THE CART PATH! They need to re-examine their boundaries.

4. BUGS BUGS BUGS BUGS. We fought off gnats and flies all day. It was non-stop in your face, ears, eyes. They should consider some pesticide. If you go in the summer, take insect repellant. You'll need it.

This course has come along way and this was the first time seeing the clubhouse. Wow really building a very nice course. I look forward to playing again soon and eating in the restaurant next time.

This course is amazing and one of South Carolina's best kept secrets. I never played this course back in the day before all the renovations, but I heard the stories. To truly appreciate what the owner, staff, and team have created. You must book a round and experience it for yourself. Afterwards you can enjoy a cold drink and some food overlooking the 9th hole on the patio. The course is a little over an hour drive for me from Rock Hill, but it's well worth the trip.

Very improved course over the past few years. However, the course is not managed to encourage quick play. In addition, other courses are priced better and are nicer course

The golf course is very kept. The staff is friendly.

Layout is great. Course condition always good. Great staff and will be back soon.

We have been coming to this course for a long time. We always enjoyed the lay-out and cost to play. They have done some huge upgrades since being taken over by a new company. They have a beautiful club house and event center, with a restaurant, fully-stocked pro shop, gorgeous rest room facilities and a spacious outdoor building to entertain. The course is in great shape and the pace of play is always excellent. Great job on all of these upgrades!

Play the score several years ago and it was in the process of being rebuilt. But the new clubhouse is fabulous and course conditions continue to improve. It's a fun layout and challenging and as the conditions improve it will only get better. My only regret is that the pro shop is small and not very well stocked and a snack bar and dining facility close too early..

Love this course, clubhouse is great and food is amazing. The course needs a lot of work, tee locations are confusing, and the odor of cow manure can be a little overwhelming. Overall, love this place, quiet off the beat and path, the staff was friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend eating here the restaurant is great.
