Greendale Golf Course

Too much construction going on. Hole #6 is closed, but there is other construction happening around the course and it doesn’t make for a good round.

Only 16 holes open. Greens had ruts running across them. Staff unfriendly. Would not play here again

While many bunkers are being redone (awesome) apparently that means it’s okay for every other bunker on the course to be completely overgrown and not maintained at all. Come on guys. For $70 to play a round surely you can have a guy come through with a weed wacker every now and then and put a touch of sand in. I won’t be back and I’ll make sure everyone in the Veterans Golf Association know how trash this course is.

Some challenging holes, overall it’s good. The bunkers are getting a makeover, hole 6 is still under repair.

Haven't been out to Greendale this season, mostly because hole #6 is still closed for renovations - but I enjoyed the round.

This no frills course is perfect for getting some work in or if you are a beginner it isn't too challenging. But it is tight in spots and an off-target shot will result in a lost ball. If you are a straight hitter and a good putter you'll score well here.

Greens were in pretty good shape despite recent aeriation and recent reviews. It looks as though they were 80-90% recovered. Bunkers are still hard and weedy. Again, the conditions are nowhere near impeccable, but that's not what this course is. If you just want to get out and play some golf - this place does the job.

If you enjoy putting on greens that are like LEGO blocks, this is the course for you. Sixth hole is closed with no obvious notice when booking and no make-up for the lost hole. Fairways and tee boxes are trash. This course should just close until it is made playable again. Staff was also indifferent to these shameful course conditions.

They put a lot of work restoring the course last season for nothing. They completely stopped carring about the greens. Let these murder Hornets take over the greens with holes everywhere. The Rangers couldn’t care less about the conditions or pace of play. When asked are they gonna do anything, met with idk and shrugs. The best par three on the course, front 9, is under construction so this is a 17 hole course.

Sand traps have foot tall grass growing, some greens have "drilling" wasps, recent aeration created ruts in numerous greens, hole six has been closed for more than one year. Course needs serious attention.

Greens were a bit rough as they had been aerated recenty. Not horrible, but not smooth either. Fairways and tee boxes were in good condition. They do a nice job with pace of play. We were never held up on a single hole, nor were we holding anyone else up.

Great value, good design, undergoing renovations that will make it much better.

Greens are the worst I’ve ever played on. Bunkers are infested with grass/weeds and could be fixed with a simple roundup treatment. No driving range. Just a poorly maintained course but consistent with most Fairfax-run establishments. It’s an easy, quick option to play golf but that’s about it.

The course needed a lot more care. Bunkers were neglected for awhile since tall weeds have grown within all of them. I was not informed the greens were aerated and slit-trenched. Many greens were also infested with insects burrowing holes into them.

Several of the greens - at least 5 - were absolutely infested with cicada killers. They had dug numerous holes creating bumps and other uneven ground suitable for putting. Aside from that, trying to putt with dozens of stinging insects buzzing around is hardly pleasant or allows for an enjoyable time. The course needs to be closed until these are eradicated and the greens repaired. I am quite surprised that no one alerted me to these conditions, but even more surprised that they have remained unaddressed, because these things did not do all this damage overnight.

I definitely won't play here again - there are just too many other nice courses, even for the price I paid.

Enjoyed playing there, but needs some maintenance in some areas with one hole closed. However, the price was reduced which made it worth the value.
