Fort Belvoir Golf Club - Gunston Course

Paid for gunston course. Upon showing up, I was told there was a tournament on that course and I would play Woodlawn. Staff were rude about it. Why let me book gunston on golf.now if there is a tournament? I wouldn’t have booked the tee time for Woodlawn.

We played both Gunston side and Woodlawn side of 18 holes for a day of 36 holes. Gunston was slightly easier than the Woodlawn side and just a beautiful and great set of courses all around. Highly Recommended!

We played 18 on the Gunston course. The greens were very well manicured and maintained. This is a huge improvement over the 2025 season. The staff was friendly and our stop for lunch at the clubhouse after the round put the cherry on the top. Chicken salad sandwich was fresh and the onion rings hot.

Play Belvoir this season! You are in for a treat!!

Did not play Gunston, the put me on Woodlawn as work being done on Gunston course. Very dry, but early in the year. Need to update the directions link on GolfNow as it does not take you to the course and through the right gate. Had to use Waze. But very nice people and course was not packed which you could play withour rushing. Had a very enjoyable time. Hope that they will use the blower on the greens so that the putting is more true.

Every green was in severe disrepair and made putting nearly impossible. Never seen it this bad - needs help.

I have played this course twice, and each time the fairways had massive dirt patches, bunkers were overgrown, and the greens are not maintained well. Greens had more sand than bunkers at some points. This round, hole 16 had a 3inch deep divot about the size of my foot. Will not be returning and will not recommend.

Decent value for the money, but the course was in terrible condition. Every single green was at least 50% dead, so you’re putting on packed brown dirt that rolls like concrete but also have to navigate the thick patches of actual grass on the green. We literally burst out laughing after most putts. Additionally, the rough (and in places, the fairway) were so overgrown with crabgrass that it was nearly impossible to find your ball unless you stepped on it. What is the greenskeeper here doing? Is Fort Belvoir really paying someone to keep the course in this condition? At a minimum, they need to give a discount and alert players prior to paying that the greens are essentially unplayable.

I played Woodlawn even though it was supposed to be Gunston. 🤷‍♂️ The leaves on the fairways and greens were horrible on holes # 1,3,4,7. Totally unplayable! When I made the tee time I had visions of years past, but hoped it would be better this time - not! I lost 2 balls on #3, 1 each on #’s 4&5. And all were hit on the fairway or just a foot or two into the rough off the fairway. I wouldn’t waste my $$ on the Belvoir courses until Fall is far in the rear view mirror. Aside from this, the greens that were clean of leaves were beautiful!

Fun day course in good shape and greens very nice.
