Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course in Lorton has been one of the area's most popular public courses since it opened in the early 1980s. Playing at Pohick Bay is like playing two golf courses in one, with a front nine that has long, tree-lined fairways and a hillier back nine that features a variety of doglegs and water holes. It is a definitely a shot-maker's course so be prepared to use some creativity and some thoughtful strategizing doesn’t hurt either. The constant up and down of the golf course provides uneven lies and a number of blind shots. The dramatic terrain also makes it a tough course to walk. Trees frame most of the holes, demanding accuracy but also providing a peaceful and secluded feel. Pohick Bay Regional Park Golf Course is popular amongst locals for being one of the most challenging and yet also one of the most affordable courses in the area.

The course is in great shape.
No complaints. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. Not an easy course. If you don't keep it in the fairway, your asking for trouble.
Great Day
I got to the course sure it would be cartpath only. It wasn’t 👍 I was a single paired with a three-some. Since I was a little early, the starter said I could go out as a single. Caught up with another single, and so we played the back nine together. Course was in very good shape. Pace of play excellent. All staff members were friendly. Great day. I like the layout a lot. Plenty of doglegs and elevation changes.

Haven’t played he in over a decade and I have been missing out. The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The course was in great shape and thought enjoyable to play.
Very nice course
Course was very nice, pretty well kept. Somewhat challenging layout, nothing crazy but definitely makes you think about your shot more than some others I’ve played. The greens were a bit slower and more forgiving than I’m used to which balanced out the challenging layout. Would recommend.
