Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Great course

This is a wonderful track, but difficult. I am a 15 handicapper and playing from the blues was tough. Even so, I enjoyed the round.

Meh

Greens, fairways and tee boxes are not in good shape. Many better courses in the area for less.

Greens are rough

We played Las Sendas a day ago and it looks like there was an issue with the greens they are still recovering from. Not all greens, but a few were definitely affected with large areas having splotches which made putting a challenge. I’d still recommend because the rest of the course is beautiful. But I have the course conditions a lower rating because of this.

Las Sendas golf

This is a very challenging course. The greens are nice but need more grass. Very well manicured.

One of the best courses in the Mesa/Phoenix area

Love the design, course knowledge is critical to score well. No trick holes but you must pay attention to the cart GPS or your own personal GPS devices. There are some beneficial lines and targets to help make the holes play shorter. Customer service is amongst the best, friendly and courteous staff. Green side bunkers can be challenging if you short side yourself. Love the 1st hole which is a par 4 with water on the right side, if an aggressive line is taken it becomes a great opportunity for a par/birdie. The 18th, par 5 hole is visually stunning and is a great finishing hole!

No obvious complaints - decent overall!

Greens and overall condition were good, layout is typical resort style ie squeezed in between the houses meaning hole layout often a secondary consideration. Definitely a few quirky holes - definitely not auto big stick off the tee on every hole. If you spray it off the tee could be long and expensive day! Greens are pretty small and often elevated. So its not that easy as such. I'm a low single digit handicap golfer for perspective. Great views of the entire valley/city! Worth a visit overall I would say if you can find a reduced rate (like we did) as i would say the regular rate is a little rich given the layout!

Las Sendas

Outstanding course. Layout is spectacular and course is in great shape.

Friendly staff, particularly the starter Misty. Overall a

Strong option if you’re looking for a premium course. Only slight wrinkle is that food options and limited and what they have is overpriced.

Elite PHX Metro course

Not cheap but definitely upper echelon in layout, views, aesthetics, conditioning, and greens. This doesnt get the attention it deserves. I was impressed and will be back in future visits.
