Red Mountain Ranch Country Club
The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Advance notice would have been nice!
Played this course on a Sunday and the greens had not be touched...long and slow. There was a lot of debris on the course from a recent weather event...I guess. Lots of long grass that needs some attention....made for a round that was not as great as expected, from the maintenance stand point. Maybe I played on a day that was not up to par...but the greens were very disappointing...it was basically take a 2-putt and move on. Drove about 35 minutes to play here so it would have been nice for Golfnow or Painted to have some sort of notice about the condition of the greens. Pace of play was very good...got around in about 3 hours, so no complaints there. Hoping my next trip will be a lot better because this course can be fun to play.
a good golf course
I arrived only to be told that the course was only open for the back nine due to greens being plugged and sanded.
No notice was received prior to arrival. Booked the course 4 days prior.
This is getting to be a problem with ALL these courses in the valley and I do NOT recall it being this way. For crying out loud I don't think everyone needs to punch the greens at the same time!
Poor Customer Service
The entire course was under maintenance and the front 9 were completely closed. We were told to play the back nine twice. When we asked for a discount on range balls due to the issues, they tried in no way to compensate. The rentals they gave us were a mismatched bag of garbage (they actually had better rentals and didn’t even offer them to us until the turn, and they said they would still charge us full price for them. The course was in awful conditions. The greens were recently aerated and full of divots with no sand filler. It was impossible to putt as your ball skipped across the surface changing directions. Though it was a pretty course, it was overall a mess and would never return to after the experience. 2 stars is generous for the price…
The course is alwaythe green we’re plugged and sanded and only back none playable. No notification
Good shape for July
The course is in good shape for July in AZ. It’s a difficult layout and the greens are especially difficult, however they held really well and we’re in great shape.
Play before it’s dry
Love making the drive to play here. Course always puts placement over length. Course is beginning to dry out and get crusty. This adds some extra roll out which can be good and bad. Play here and be ready to score well if you can keep your ego in check.
Fun Pete Dye track
Challenging and fun. Greens were awesome. Friendly staff. Super value.
No rangers, no etiquette
Course allows people to jump in front of you, and when you alert the clubhouse they don’t do anything about it. Won’t return
Overall, course was fantastic. Other than the greens, course was maintained very well.
Only saw beverage cart once, which would be bad if relied on it, but water was plentiful on course.
Greens were not well taken care of...grounds crew had everything perfect...it's the people playing that have mucked up course. How hard is it to repair ball marks? Repair yours, and at least 2 others...I repaired at least 5-6 ball marks, on top of mine, every green.
I would definitely recommend playing, and will play again without hesitation.
