About

The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Dead

Grass is dead on every hole that’s not by the clubhouse. Wouldn’t pay more than $20 to play it right now. It’s actually one of my most played courses out here but it’s in really bad shape. Greens and tee boxes are pretty beat up too.

Challenging Golf Course

The golf course is very challenging and requires accuracy off the tee and precise approach shots to the greens. Unfortunately, the greens at this course were in subpar shape. They were badly damaged in so many places on every green due to the mowers cutting them super close. Some of the greens were un-puttable depending on pin placement.

Challenging Pete Dye course.

I have a love / hate relationship with this course. Not very forgiving but fun to play. It definitely tests your golf skills. Elevated greens that your ball can easily roll off and down several yards if you don't hit them clean. For me I love the challenge of this course even though I don't usually score that well.

Don’t play till after overseed

This course right now is in terrible shape. Greens are burned out, bumpy and slow all at the same time. They aerated over 3 weeks ago and it should be nicely recovered, but it’s the opposite. Inside guy who checked us in told us that the greens had fully recovered, and as soon as we got to hole 1 green, you knew he was lying, which sucks. Just be honest with your customers. Also, did not say anything about the lack of range balls or even offer range balls as an option to us.

Overall I always like playing here as it’s a great layout, but currently it’s a 1 star course.

Summer golf round

Hot day, course was good. Would go back and play again. Would be nice to have a beverage cart on course. But overall I have always enjoyed this course and would play again.

Took advantage of a hot deal and the dust in the atmosphere making it bearable to be in the sun. Staff was very friendly. Pace was incredible since it was a Tuesday un August. Green are still in nice shape, and the layout of the course is spectacular. Rolling hills, challenging approaches, diverse par 3's. Looking forward to playing again
