The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Awesome course and layout

Thoroughly enjoyed the course, the conditions, and the layout. Several tees to choose from. Greens could be a little faster. Staff were very friendly.

Red Mountain

Course has a super cool layout. I played the tips. Had some very tight tee box shots from back there. Also had some very open and cool set up ones. The island box on the back 9 was very cool. Overall course was in very good condition and for the price this place was worth the money 100x over. 100% will be back. I play a lot of courses and this is now on my top places to play in the PHX area. Awesome track.

Early week/Early morning round

Had the course largely to myself. 8am tee time, previous group 45mins in front of me - never saw anyone on course. 2.5hr round.
Greens were in great shape, fairways also for the most part … some spots were getting additional watering but overall good course and value for money

Course didn’t meet expectations

Came into the round very optimistic with how the course would be with the knowledge that it’s a Pete dye course. You can tell at one point this course was probably at championship level, but unfortunately it’s not anymore. Felt like I should’ve played it 10 years ago and it would’ve been nice. Grass in areas where the bunkers used to be, Tee boxes not very well kept. There were about 5/6 holes that were nice and had some cool views from the tips. I wouldn’t go back again, will probably play Las sendas or longbow if I’m driving out to Mesa again

excellent coarse

This is a coarse everyone should play, very good greens some quite tricky and quick, fairways in good condition and coarse layout gives you chances to make pars and the occasional birdie would definitely recommend

Harder than its Rating so be careful

This is a course we visit a few times/year. It is challenging, a target course. I would knock only two things. 1) #17 is a terribly designed green. You had better lay up and then chip from the tee box direction because it is extremely narrow with trouble on both sides, not a fun hole at all. 2) Typically there are older members who do not pay much attention to pace of play or where they drive their carts and with no marshal, it makes it a tad aggravating to watch.

Had a fun time playing the course. Interesting/ challenging layout, but very playable.
Staff friendly and knowledgeable… condition showing a bit of ‘wear’ but generally good.

Friendly but challenging course

I have played this course a few times over the last 10 years and it never disappoints. I was surprised to see this year how they have cleared out some of the rough and made it a bit less punitive.
