Red Mountain Ranch Country Club
About
The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

Golfer Reviews
Don’t play till after overseed
This course right now is in terrible shape. Greens are burned out, bumpy and slow all at the same time. They aerated over 3 weeks ago and it should be nicely recovered, but it’s the opposite. Inside guy who checked us in told us that the greens had fully recovered, and as soon as we got to hole 1 green, you knew he was lying, which sucks. Just be honest with your customers. Also, did not say anything about the lack of range balls or even offer range balls as an option to us.
Overall I always like playing here as it’s a great layout, but currently it’s a 1 star course.
Summer golf round
Hot day, course was good. Would go back and play again. Would be nice to have a beverage cart on course. But overall I have always enjoyed this course and would play again.
First time review
Took advantage of a hot deal and the dust in the atmosphere making it bearable to be in the sun. Staff was very friendly. Pace was incredible since it was a Tuesday un August. Green are still in nice shape, and the layout of the course is spectacular. Rolling hills, challenging approaches, diverse par 3's. Looking forward to playing again
Course In Need Of Work
Most of the bunkers had grass that was over 6 inches tall. The course has a LOT more bald areas than it ever has. It would seem this course needs a new General Manager of grounds if it will ever earn back its reputation.
Great Value and Beautiful Course
This course is one of my favorite courses in the Mesa/Gilbert/Chandler area. Always in good shape, just a bit dried up now as there were several areas within the tee box, fairways, and greens. Great value at.$41 via Hot Deal on Golfnow
ATTENTION HIGH HANDICAPPERS
I’m a mid handicap and shot an 88 so if you are new to golf or a high handicap bring extra balls and don’t be afraid to play up a tee box this isn’t the PGA TOUR you paid to play there have fun. Super awesome course real challenging at time but had an amazing time. Would most definitely come back again!
Single Player 2.5 hour pace
Hottest time at 11:54 so no one ahead. Quick pace and play solo. Some dry and baron spots. Greens in fair shape for July. Majestic views that I appreciate as I navigated through course.
Aeration nobody let me know including golf now
Remember your gut telling you if it's too good of a deal it might not be true I got a $30 deal to play this course I played it before it's a nice layout very hilly but guess what neither Golf Now nor the course or anybody let you know including me that it was aerated. Horrible conditions really I should get all my money back from golf now because when I looked at Union Hills at least let me know and I didn't book but there was no warning on this one very disappointing and golf now in this course
Pete Dye Gem!
This course is special. Classic Pete Dye design from the get go. Really fun tract and interesting challenges throughout the course. Undulating fairways and greens add to the adventure. There is some blind tee shots along with approach shots strategically placed on the course. Greens rolled pretty true at a 10 or 11. Pro tip, beware of bunkers behind the greens as the greens are firm and can be tricky to hold in the summer. A bonus would be if there was GPS on the cart, so you can see what's ahead. Inquire with pro shop if they have yardage books as that would be helpful here. My garmin watch helped some. Staff was very friendly. Lots of water stations on the course too. Overall experience was awesomeness. You can score really high here so knowing that just take one shot at a time and have fun and take what you can get. Great views of the valley and red mountain etc.
Fun golf course
This course is a Pete Dye design. Alot of fun to play. Difficult because of rolling hills and greens. It was worth the price even though there's not much grass this time of year.
Fun Course
This is June in Arizona. Given the time of year, the greens were in very good shape. They rolled a bit slow but putts held their line well. Good approach shots would leave a ball mark and hold the green.
The fairways had some burnt out spots, but that is typical for this time of year in the desert.
The toughest thing about the course is the tee complexes, many of which are elevated with steep slopes if your miss the surface with your approach shot.
Awesome Layout
Played the course mid morning and was able to get out before a group. Course condition was amazing for post season. Fairways and greens immaculate. Rate was discounted which I appreciated but of the four courses I've played so far this year...this is by far the absolute best. Would definitely play it again.
