Great course, greens were slow (end of Aug)
Overall the two options: Valley and Tournament courses are a great 36-hole destination for golfers. The practice facilities are good. A bit far for most Bay Area residents but it’s worth the drive. Wind plays a factor here and most afternoons, there is good wind that will challenge distance assessment.
The day we played, the Tournament course greens were a tad slow (80% speed) and not rolling well. The carts need to be in at sunset and there are very annoying messages that hound you. The very first message comes as a “Warning” (when you have done nothing wrong). Due to water shortage, most rough and surrounding areas of a fairway are dry and poor to play from - do keep it straight!
Despite the negatives, I would go again. It’s a good course and can be even better.
Tournament Course
Great course. It was challenging. Lots of gullies to hit across, so you really need to plan your shots. Fairways and greens were in excellent shape.
A good test of golf.
Everything was great except the greens had just been aerated so putting was an issue.
I wish they had told me this before I booked.
Did not find out until the started let us know.
Great finishing holes
17th and 18th holes remind me of the bear trap, great challenging hole Risk-Reward. Pace was good, finished in 4-1/2 hours but tempo was off because as a single of was waiting on the foursome to complete their 2nd shot or clear the green on every hole. The greens were aerated so I can’t tell you about conditions, speed or breaks. Great value through GN and I knew that the greens were being worked on. Prepare for the wind in the afternoon, and club up its a long track even from the white tee boxes. Definitely play again with some buddies!! I didn’t check out the amenities because they were hosting a large event.
Very Challenging Course
This is a great course and you will need to have all the shots to score well. If you do put together a solid round here, you can play anywhere. Beautiful fairways and perfect greens. No two holes are similar. We had a great afternoon here.
Coyote Creek
Tournament course very challenging- good condition- greens good and fast- fees are a little pricey and course could use a marshal to keep things moving- otherwise solid track
Good Round on a Sunday
This is a nice course I played regularly. It has interesting/somewhat challenging layout, decent condition - some bunkers have sallow sand layer - I found out the hard way. Weather was nice. One thing I don't like is that they set too restrictive GEO fencing for golf cart, give me all kinds annoying message and restriction when using their golf cart.
