Fantastic!
What a great facility! Course in great shape even w/ all the recent rain. Lush green grass in the setting of the foothills w/ no houses or roads in view. Front 9 mostly flat, back 9 hilly and a bit more interesting.
Staff was excellent and you can't beat the price for something of this quality. Also played the 9 hole par 3 course. Not just a pitch and putt course. It has elevation changes and well placed water hazards. Driving range also, they have it all.
Long day
Let me say the course looks great . I have been playing SJ Muni 90% of the time .
The Muni is marginally harder I say now . It seems longer because of the weeds know role , and hard to hit off.
Santa Teresa has none of that or deep ruff . The greens are so much better at Santa Teresa, you have a better chance to make a putt.
Yesterday I was grouped with supper seniors who played the white tees
The other guy hit with me and he belongs at the white tees.
I’m 60 and hit the ball about 260 off the tees. I played blue..
We were so behind at time and know marshals asked them what tees are you hitting from.
I took it no longer and left after my 12 tee shot.
Golf Cart Policy
I was not allowed to rent (at full price) a golf cart for my own use for my Saturday round. Apparently, Santa Teresa is now unwilling to acknowledge Covid 19 or other personal health concerns associated with close contact with another golfer. I have not experienced this arbitrary restriction of cart rental policy at this or any other course in the area. I was told by the person in the golf shop that I would be paired up with another golfer in a cart unless the other members of the group wanted to walk. I was told that I could wait 15-20 minutes for the golf shop employee to determine if a golf cart would be available for my personal use. I chose to cancel my tee time. Santa Teresa should be considerate of customer needs, and, at the very least, post their golf cart restriction policy. I was able to single on at another course on Saturday. Amazingly, the two other golfers in my threesome and I all had our own carts. Have a nice day.
Frustrating staff
This used to be my home course when I lived around here. I played as a single today. Came back to visit and was excited as it was usually well valued and fun. Course wasn't in as good of a shape as it used to be (comparing this to last summer), but still alright. Most frustrating part was the staff/golf shop!!! I check in early and purchase a cart to ride in. The guy has me come back later, closer to my tee time to grab the cart (completely understand and no issue here). When I come back to grab the key, a different employee tells me they already gave away the two keys for the carts for the group. They say it's due to COVID, but you are forcing me into using a cart with a complete and random stranger??? That only two carts are allowed per group, but yet I was the first one to check in and I'm not given a cart. I am very frustrated with this and they give me a refund for the cart fee, but still I have to walk. TO MAKE IT WORSE as I'm on the second hole (right next to first), there is a group of four players with 3 carts for the group! What happened to only two carts per group? If you are going to enforce these rules, then enforce it FOR EVERYONE.
Local gem
Admittedly biased because I live 5 miles away, I enjoy this course. Better conditions than some other local layouts, with greens in good rolling condition ( despite unrepaired ball marks from lazy golfers)!
Enough of a challenge for all skill levels, but won’t unduly punish you for errant shots!
Good value for the price, friendly staff, and two 4 point bucks to welcome you home on 17 and 18 fairways.
Always a good time
PLayed with two other a people front nine we waited a little bit it was the back nine slow golfers but every course has them
Great Morning
Golfed this morning with a friend at 0730. We got hooked up with a couple of really nice guys to finish the foursome.
Not to much of a breeze until we got to the back nine.
Fairways in great condition., greens were rolling fast and smooth.
Good majority of the bunkers were really wet to the point the water was pooling.
The golf shop and grill personnel polite and helpful.
A great day for me with three pars.
Looking forward to coming back soon
Santa Teresa Golf
Great course and pretty open, the greens are nice and the pace wasn't to bad. It's was nice to have drinks in the club house after play and watch sports on the tv's
Airated Greens
I wish we were informed that the greens were Airated recently. But I would return to play this course.
It just looks better
I hadn’t been to ST in a long time I have been stuck at SJ muni for past 6 months.
I know they must have aerated the green awhile ago because they’re in great shape.
I made more long putts in a long time, I did three putt a couple times, but that’s because of not being use too the speed.
I know they are not the best greens in the world. But they are much better than SJ Muni.
Fun course to play
I really like playing this course. It’s usually in good shape for the amount of play it gets with a great layout.
