del Lago Golf Club
About
del Lago Golf Club sits at an elevation of 3,400 feet, enjoying a temperature that is five degrees cooler than Tucson in the summer, which makes a big difference under the hot Arizona sun. Winding through the hills and valleys of the high desert, the golf course features over 120 feet of elevation changes that present tricky uneven lies. The dramatic undulations also offer beautiful views of the Rincon and Santa Catalinas Mountain ranges. Golfers start at the highest point on the course and then play down into the valley before getting to the back nine, which plays along the Pantano Wash. The first hole is the only forced carry on the course, the remaining holes are friendlier off the tees. Seven lakes dot the golf course, coming into play on six holes, and there is also heavy bunkering around the greens.

Del Lago
Some Fairways are a little bit dry but everything is playable! I’m coming back this weekend
Del Lago
Course conditions were very good, was fortunately grouped with good people, we enjoyed the company as well as the Golf. Didn’t feel really welcomed at the pro shop, and was given my own cart even though I was a fourth and a foursome. So there were two of us each writing in our own cart. Not used to that. I feel the course certainly is challenging, set up rather well. And groomed very well. Overall good experience.
Can’t wait to get back!
Love this course, greens are on perfect shape! Some fairways are little dry but playable!
ice Course
Loved the course. The only negative was the condition of the fairways
Great layout, great value
The greens were in great shape, tee boxes in great shape. They were forced to reduce water use by 40%, so no fault of their own, fairways are a little dry, but still have grass. I think they do a great job. Staff is very friendly, carts in good shape. The course challenging, but still very playable. I enjoyed playing there and would definitely go back.
Greens and tee boxes are great
Greens are wonderful. The bunkers have sand in them again. Greenside bunkers are now playable without all the little rocks. The fairways are dry and you mostly hit off dirt. You have to be really precise to constantly hit off the tight lies and not bounce and skull it. I like the course and understand they are only allowed a certain amount of water so they use it on the greens and tee boxes. But next time I play here I will bring a bunch of really short little tees for the fairway shots and enjoy the round a lot more!
Fairways are dry and need water. Tee boxes and greens are green, but fairways are" runways"!
The course is unplayable and the grounds-crew needs to spend some time pulling the high thistle weeds in the bunkers as they are just impossible to look at or navigate. The absolutely worst conditions my wife and I have played in for 10 years and we play 36 times a month! Tony the ranger is fantastic however, apparently has no authority to make the 5-hour painful round any faster. We will not return until you get some water on the "runways!" This is a wonderful course that needs some TLC. We are sorry for its current conditions.
Great track, Very Challenging in all respects
This course is wonderful layout with some really challenging holes. Greens are very good with very nice overall grass and smooth but can be a bit slower at times but overall they are very good. Tee boxes are generally good and the venue is very nice. The issue is their fairways. They are at best poor. Many dirt spots and very very hard ground. Looks like they do not water their fairways. We had to move the ball when we played on the fairways and that helped. It is worth playing if you do this in the fairways and the cost is Great.
Fairways Could Use a Little Water
It's a beautiful course with tremendous variety in types of of hole layouts but due to a lack of water, we are in a desert, the fairways were suffering. I teed of first in the morning by myself and I completed 18 holes in 1 hour and 45 minutes. It was wonderful. Everyone at the course, inside, around the course, the cart young man, the starter, everyone was very nice. It was a great morning. Thank you.
Great course!
I always love playing this course not to hard or to easy keeps me on my toes and always reminds me I need to practice more lol.
Absolutely Wonderful
We were the first group off the tee, just a twosome, and we rolled along famously finishing in two hours and forty-five minutes. It was wonderful not having to wait for anyone and to have a wonderful rhythm for the round. Ed was very kind to let us split our first off the tee foursome into two twosomes so we could enjoy this wonderful course at our pace. We are both 11 handicap players who are ready to play when it’s our turn and walk briskly between shots. Thank you Del Lago.
FAIRWAYS
Worst condition in the twelve years I've been playing Del Lago. Green top notch, T boxes adequate.
Disappointed
The tees and greens were fine. Little grass on the fairways made everything a tight lie.
Terrible
Worst course in southern Arizona in my opinion, I think they should just shut this place down and someone new should take over. It appears to me that they have no concern for getting this course in decent shape. Save your money, go ANYWHERE else.
Horrible condition
Tee box and greens were in decent condition. Fairways are in horrible condition. Waste of money to play course in this condition. Better off to play a Tucson city course or drive to Benson.Would not recommend this course in this condition!!
Rough condition
Tee boxes are about the best grass you will see on course. Fair ways are very dry and rough shape. Not worth what was paid for the round. Course has gone downhill since last year. Would not recommend. Should have known when booking why there was early tee times available.
