Wildcat Golf Club - The Lakes

Unfortunately, the course conditions did not match the $125 price tag. The rough and non-fairway areas were not maintained or mowed properly, to the point where we were losing balls just a few feet outside the fairway. Even when we found them, some were buried deep in the grass, which made for a frustrating round.

The golf carts were also very jerky and clearly not in the best condition, and the pro shop had even run out of sunscreen.

For $125 a round, I expect much better course conditions, maintenance, and overall experience. At the current price and condition, I don’t think it’s worth the money.

Everything about my golfing experience was fantastic!! Upon arriving at the 1st tee for my 9:45 AM tee time, the Marshall asked if I'd like to play with the 3 gentlemen who had just tee'd off (9:30 AM tee time), and I confirmed wanting to do so without hesitation. He immediately drove to the gentlemen and communicated that I'd be joining them, and the fun began. The guys I joined were great (Blake, Anthony, and "C")!! The course is AMAZING!! There are several blind tee shots, elevated greens on par 3's, and a wonderful mix of dog leg rights and lefts. The greens are pristine and run very smoothly. Fairways are nice as well! Water surrounding holes are a nice touch, and the layout is a lot of fun. I'm very much looking forward to returning ASAP! I usually play at my home course Memorial GC or Tour 18, but Wildcat - Lakes is now on my radar going forward. Lastly, the pro shop team and Marshall's were all wonderful with great and welcoming energy. 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Links style course wit lots of water hazards makes for a challenging round, but undulation in fairways and well manicured greens makes it a fair test.

Played in 3-some with some delays due to 3-some in front. A couple cases where next tee box location not obvious. Greens were better than most. We received some discount because greens were recently maintained. I haven’t played this course in many years, but it is certainly worthwhile.

This course always delivers. Great variety of holes, it’s challenging, you can get creative with you shots. Staff are friendly, I’ll be back soon!

Challenging course with the most elevation change in the Houston area.

Good condition, a great challenge. Just feels like there are a lot of split fairways and lots of risk with no reward. If you're a glutton for punishment and enjoy hitting very specific, precise shots. This is the place for you.

Needs at least two drink attendants per course! One isn’t quite enough! Awesome course though, very difficult. That’s a compliment not a complaint.

Course conditions were very very good, some greens were okay, and the last hole with the greens being renovated was also a big letdown and not the way you want to end a great round at a nice course. That’s as harsh as I can be about it, I’d still recommend

Pro shop was very courteous and welcoming, which is refreshing. The pace of play was fine but it was a little hard to find out if you were playing the correct hole if it is your first time. Multiple blind tee shots that force you to rely on cart GPSs to ensure the coast is clear.

There’s a lot to like about the layout of the course, with well-placed water and interesting turns. A few holes are somewhat gimmicky (blind shots, double fairways), but nothing too terrible. Course was in decent but not great shape for early March. For some reason, I wanted to like the course more than I did. Just feels a notch below top-tier Houston tracks.
