About
The Highlands Course is probably the more stimulating of the two tracks at Wildcat GC, offering better views of the city, natural wetlands and grasses, and some intriguing flat sand bunkers. Case must have an affinity for the No. 7, because like the Lakes track, the 421-yard, par 4 hole 7 is the most difficult rated hole. Watch out for the par 5s on this one, three of which play at or above 570 yards from the tips.
Getting there : From downtown take Hwy. 288 south for 5 miles to Loop 610. Head west and find the Fannin exit, where you'll U-turn under 610 and drive east on the access road to Almeda Rd. Turn right on Almeda and the course is 3 miles further.

Too slow
It took more than 5 hours to complete 18 holes. The group two groups ahead of us had no consideration for the others behind us, so we had to wait a few minutes for each hole. There were no marshals, and many groups behind us were constantly waiting. If you can't enjoy it at this price, it's not worth it.
Bad Greens
The course was in typical winter condition which is fine for the most part but the greens were terrible for the price. Some worse than others but all suffered from large areas of poa annua spots as well as fungus or mold that made putting a crap shoot. Not the end of the world but definitely not worth the $100 + green fees.
Weeds will get ya
Best part about this course was the greens. They were superb. Little more wet and soft than I would have liked on course. But the biggest issue I had was the blind tee shots and the weeds/fescue. If your ball barely rolled in, kiss it good bye. So accuracy pays off on this course. Can’t get to the weeds at all. Leave it short and in play. Solid $65 course.
Fun track
Third time playing The Highlands course at Wildcat. Links course with large, challenging greens with lots of twists and turns. The native grasses looked to have just been cut which made it easier to find balls hit into the grasses. Course was dry due to lack of rain so the roll was in our favor. I look forward to playing The Highlands again.

I honestly was looking for a reason to give something 4 stars but it was all great. 10/10 experience on all fronts.

This is probably the best course in Houston. I love playing both highlands and the lakes course.
Beautiful course, facilities, friendly staff
Great course. First class facilities, very friendly staff. And fun environment. Exception maintenance of the carts, the course and the practice areas. I can't wait to play it again.
