Wildcat- Highlands was a great experience
First time playing Wildcat, weather wasn’t the greatest but everything else was top notch! Staff was welcoming and friendly, course was in great shape for this time of year. Played on a Monday morning and it seemed like we had the course to ourselves. Two groups allowed us to play through with easy. After the first round, we payed the inexpensive replay fee and played a second round. Already looking forward to my next visit to the challenging course
Hills in Houston?
So much for everything is flat at sea level! Incredible rolling hills, lakes, streams, views and wildlife. Can’t wait to come back!
Great as Alays
The best facility in Houston. Course is in great condition and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Was pretty busy and still played in 4 hours. Good job Marshalls.
Always a great experience!
Very consistent. Always in good shape. Greens running true, not too fast or slow. Pace of play was a bit slow but it was a busy day. Such a fun layout
Course is in great shape
Played early, not slow play, groups waived us through. Greens rolled smooth and fairly fast. Fairways were in good condition too. Great test of your game.
Staff are disorganized and unreasonable
We came to play with a group of 5. We talked with the cashier in the pro shop and we’re told that only 4 people could play on a hole. He also told us for the fifth member that we could pay a fifth cart fee of $30. We said great we’ll just alternate in the fifth player and went on our way. But, when we got to the fifth hole, the Marshall came and told us we were kicked off the course for having five people play. We tried to explain the situation, but he refused to listen. It’s a shame because I actually enjoy the course.
Good place to play
Course was in very good condition, especially considering the drought that has been around for some time. Tee boxes, fairways, rough, greens, all very good. Pace of play was excellent, weekday had only a few players out. Practice facilities are a real plus. Standard driving range w/plenty of bays , putting greens are good and similar to the greens on the course, chipping area is excellent. Large, multilevel green w/ greenside sand traps. Only drawback to Wildcat is the cost, $100 plus per player. Plenty of other courses thru-out Houston at lower cost. However, few have the elevation changes and challenging holes of Wildcat. Can't afford to play here regularly, but a few times a year is a nice change from the relatively flat courses in this area of Texas. Would recommend playing here!
