About
St. Michael's Golf Club sits atop Gallow Hill, providing spectacular views past the River Eden to the historic buildings of St. Andrews. The course sprawls across a prehistoric settlement that is protected by Historic Scotland. The terrain is an interesting mix of wooded parkland and undulating heathland with a well-draining sandy base. The golf course features small greens and narrow fairways that place a premium on accuracy. While it may not have the prestige or the classic links layout of St. Andrews, St. Michael's Golf Club offers just as formidable a test. The challenges begin immediately on the first hole, an uphill par 4 with a fairway that slopes right to left. St. Michael's signature hole is the par-3 15th, which many consider to be the most demanding short hole in Fife. There is a large dip to the left and rear of the green, a bunker to the front right, and out-of-bounds to the left and on the railway line behind.

Golfer Reviews
Lovely back 9
Really enjoyed the back 9 on this course. Some beautiful holes. One recommendation is to put a wee map of the course on the cards. It’s an easy enough job. I can do it for you 😂
Can’t seem to give it stars but would score it a 4.5 for sure. Sat nav puts the entrance to the course about 200 yards down the road from where it actually is.
A course with real character. A good challenge,a course that is well maintained.
Don't miss this one!
Such a great local golf club. The food is organised fresh everyday by onsite chef. The barman sorts you're tee- times, taxis and lunch and generally gives a real Scottish welcome that your don't have to pay over the odds for!
The course is unwatered so give the player a true traditional good experience. And all for £25!!
Highly recommended.
Enjoyable Golf
3rd time playing course some great holes and great conditions
Average front 5 holes before a wonderful 13 holes.
The back 9 on this course is spectacular. Front few holes are just to make up the numbers but the rest will blow your mind, great course layout with bunkers and v fast greens. Will come back again for sure!
Nice layout
Really enjoyed my round this morning. The fact you can book from 5am is a real bonus. I was round and back for 8 :30am with all the day left to enjoy family time. When I visit again I will make sure st Michael's is a regular stop.
St Michaels Leuchars
Played this course many times and think it is great value for money with some fantastic holes and the condition is always very good. Pace of play generally very good.
Worth the visit
On the way home from a great weekend in St Andrews myself and 3 mates decided to give st Michael’s a try. A very warm welcome from the staff as we arrived, Course was in very good condition with the greens running true and fast, some very good holes on this golf course. Especially the back 9, the par 3 15th was a real surprise when walking to the tee. 16th was very unusual to what we are used to playing but a real fun hole to play. I will 100% play again when in the area. Great value for money. Friendly staff, and a well maintained golf course
Really nice back 9
Excellent back 9 on this course. Enjoyed the day , staff behind the bar really friendly.
Great Gem near St Andrews
An excellent course in great condition with some very interesting and challenging holes. Pace of play was excellent t we were round in 3 hours. Members were really friendly. Price to ply was great value. I highly recommend this course to all visitors to the St Andrews area
Kind and warm people
the staff were super kind and everyone I ran into at the clubhouse were all really warm and friendly. Had such a great time!
Very good
Course very good greens great for time of year. Worth a visit if your in the area.
St Michaels
It was not muddy or soft but all the earth or mud was sticking to my shoes and the wheels of my Trolley this is not a complaint but an observation the greens were great for the time of year I have played here a few times in the past 3 years and always been made very welcome by the the local lads the kitchen was closed on a Wednesday however the ladies behind the bar made us a filled cold roll for us when we finished and a pot of tea was included in the price of £25 well worth a visit as Arnie says I will be back
2nd time playing 1st was 4 weeks ago enjoyed it 1st time 2nd was just as good apart from my game which was a mess but will definitely be back
Great course
Course was in fantastic shape.
First round on this course and found it was very tricky. Really enjoyed it, Members were very friendly and helpful. Would go again
