Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Best value course in Scotland

I can’t believe how excellent this course is, located between St. Andrews and Carnoustie; it surely offers the best value in the area and likely ranks among the top courses in golf. The 9th, 10th, 11th, and 18th holes feature water hazards, and the greens were in fantastic condition. I would highly recommend this course.

Best value for money

This beautiful course features an excellent layout and is constantly being improved. Like many others in the region, it could really use some rain as the fairways are quite dry. However, I believe the greens are among the best in the area. Overall, this is the best value course in Scotland. If you haven't played here yet and you're in the area, I highly recommend giving it a try.

Enjoyed the layout and some nice feature holes.

Condition of the tee’s and greens were very good.

Most of the fairways were poor unfortunately some really bad burnt out patches.

Bad Experience

3 people at £40 per person then added another at £56.99. Tee off at 11.48 and got to second tee and we were the 3rd game on that hole. All 4 balls. This continued for the holes we played as we were 2hrs 50 minutes for 10 holes. Visiting parties of gents who were not competent golfers. and decidedly unruly on the course and many of them under the influence of alcohol.

I have written an email to the club listing all the problems we encountered. They should not be issuing your organisation with tee off times when they are booked solid on their own booking system. We would have been out on the course at a conservative estimate of 5hrs 45 minutes. Totally unacceptable. The cost of our game came in at nearly £18 per hole, not such a hot deal.

We had no option but to leave the course due to pace of play, behaviour and the fact we had a 2 hr 30 mins journey home.

Great course in excellent condition

Drumoig is one of my favourite courses to play as it's always in great condition and the variety of holes is great. The best part of the course is the turn when you play 9, 10 & 11 with 10 being a great birdie chance for golfers of all handicaps.

Wonderful golf

Returned once again to drumoig golf club on Monday 2ndof June with three friends hoping it would be as good as last time. We were not disappointed wonderful golf course in great condition. The first hole was very welcoming reducing first tee nerves. The rest of the course was a great and fair challenge the highlights were holes 9. 10. 11. The water feature holes, they are a great challenge. The starter and club house staff very very friendly and efficient. Looking forward to returning again in the autumn. All good.
