Drumoig Hotel Golf Resort

About
Drumoig Golf Hotel sprawls across 250 acres of rolling countryside inhabited by a variety of different birds and wildlife. The dramatic landscape provides the course with plenty of loch-side fairways and quarry greens. The lochs come into play on three holes, most notably on the challenging par-3 ninth. The difficult tee shot is followed by a tricky shot over the loch in order to reach the green. More advanced golfers will find the back tees provide a good challenge while the front tees are better for beginners. Golfers will also enjoy the views that stretch past St. Andrews Bay and the River Tay to Dundee and Carnoustie. The par-5 fifth is the signature hole of the golf course. The hole, which often plays into prevailing wind, requires a strong drive and a long iron to reach the narrow opening to the green.

Had to stand continuously at tees while this group just wouldn't let me through. Photo submitted by lindadargie88 on 11/11/2020

Beautiful Green Photo submitted by t1196176880 on 04/29/2018
Great course
An extra long course, it’s a good challenge for a mid-level golfer. Would suggest renting a buggie if the legs aren’t up to it!
A small note that the greens are a bit patchy in places after winter but it’s evident that the course is maintained to a high standard, so I’m sure this will be mended as spring takes hold.
The course is great!
Hopefully the work being done on the 18th is complete the next time I play here, and the club house and the food hut on the turn are open so I can get the full experience. I will definitely be back.
Can't judge amenities due to the pandemic.
Greens still had a bit of sand and weren't at their peak but I'm sure that will change in the next few weeks.
I would definitely recommend this course and I will be back.
Enjoyment
A great challenge to all handicaps and a fantastiically looked after and well presented course. Great value for money
Terrible slow play and complete disregard for rules of golf.
My whole visit was spoiled by a 4 ball group of members. I teed off at 11:45 behind a two ball. They played through the four ball (members) at the second tee. I then played to the 14th tee continuously waiting on the four ball! At one point a three ball caught me on the 11th tee and asked "haven't they let you through yet? We have a two ball on the fairway behind and anoeon the tee?!"... No I said, in fact, ive caught them at several tees and apart from one "hello" haven't acknowledged me at all. I was really quite disappointed and disgusted at their lack of understanding of the R&A ruling on slow play and especially holding up a single player. I barely finished my round in day light. I would go back.... but if that ever happened again, i would be quite happy to tackle the indaviduals and also report it to the club directly. Shame.... good day spoiled by ignorance.
Excellent condition
Played this course a few times now, fairways can get firm in dry weather but it is highly recommended when other courses are heavy especially in late autumn or winter.
We played a fourball and the greens were soft yet really quick and course overall was in great nick.
Lady starter very welcoming and helpful also.
Will be back soon.
Winter golf
Drumoig is a hidden gem for winter golf.
Our own course is like a swamp.
Played 18 holes at Drumoig amazingly dry course with slick greens.

Good price for a really good experience.
Drumoig in October
Course was in absolutely excellent condition despite the time of year and heavy rain in the preceding days. A fantastic day out.
