Golf Club of Houston - Tournament Course

The tee boxes were well below average. I understand it’s hot and everything is little dried out but for the money this course could use alot of improvement.

We had an enjoyable round in mid August despite 100° temperatures. The course looked pretty good despite the extremely dry conditions and the greens were recently punched, but rolled very nicely.

My only real complaint would be with the golf carts. There is no mention of cartpath only holes yet when you drive into the fairway, the cart locks up and makes you drive in reverse. Similarly there is no flagging or staking to let you know you are in a restricted area and I had the cart lock up multiples times while driving in the middle of the fairway lock up on me saying I was in a restricted zone not anywhere close to the green or any other restrictions and it was not a cart path only hole. This needs to be fixed, it was very obnoxious. I did appreciate the cold towels, the abundance of water and ice all throughout the course.

Played with members that said this is the worse they’d ever seen the course conditions. Fairways were literally non-existent, you were better off being in the rough. No heads up was given about the conditions and pace of play was super poor. Didn’t see a course Marshall all day! Hopefully I can play again sometime because when conditions are good it looks like a great course in pictures.

Beautiful course, interesting holes, perfect greens, snazzy carts.

Greens were punched last Wednesday. No mention of that from anyone until you get to the first hole. I don’t mind paying up for this course but not if the greens aren’t rolling perfect.

No towels, no sand in sand bottles, pace of play slow.

All for $170 per person.

Fairways was not as nice as I’ve seen before especially for this time of year. Greens were good. Need marshals because took 5.5 to play and waited on every hole.

Green was very good

Very difficult to find out course(tournarment) especially 2 and 10. There was no sign board

Course is really good looking. The greens are excellent. The layout is a kick in the teeth.

We quit after nine because they put a shotgun start tournament out on the course when we were around hole 6. Pace of play slowed to slower than a crawl. We asked for a refund and they gave us a rain check for nine holes. Said we should have called out to see if a tournament would be there. For $190 we shouldn't have to do that.

All tee boxes are under repair therefore prepared temp tee box. Fairway and Green condition also no good

First time playing here. Place is huge due to the 2 courses on the property. Practice range is legit. Had a 7:30 tee time and had no issues with pace of play. Course was pure from fairways to green. 2 different cart girls driving around all round. Staff was great!

Greens were fantastic. Fast and smooth. Several fairways need some work.. layout PGALEVEL.. SPEED OF ROUND slower than normal. 5 hours. But Fridays and fantastic weather normally expect a bit of a wait

A real joy of a golf experience. Layout is high-class, with not a single weak hole. Lots of bunkers and water makes it a real challenge. Greens are solid and exceedingly fair (though Memorial Park is better). Course was in very good shape for late February. Thought it was a great value at a $100 hot deal, a bit pricey at $140. Pace of play was good. Clearly the best course in Houston I’ve played.
