Carmarthen Golf Club

I joined Carmarthen Golf Club as a Country Member, met the eligibility criteria at the time of application, paid my membership fee, and my membership was accepted and activated. Several months later my membership privileges and BRS access were removed after I ceased membership at another golf club.

My concern is that, having reviewed the Membership Form and Terms & Conditions provided by the club, I have been unable to find any provision stating that a Country Member must maintain ongoing membership at another club throughout the membership year. I have repeatedly asked the club to identify the specific rule relied upon, but to date I have not received a clear answer.

The course itself is excellent, well maintained, and one of the most enjoyable courses in the area, which makes the situation particularly disappointing. My issue is with the administration and communication surrounding the decision, not the quality of the course.

Course was in excellent condition......greens were superb. Thoroughly recommend well worth a visit.

Great settings, with fantastic views. A challenging layout with sone tight reclined fairways and very slopy greens. Definitely need to play here twice to getbthe most out of it.

Another great round at Carmarthen! We came the same time last year, but this time we didnt have any fog. It was enjoyable enough last time but this time it was even better. The ground was frozen over much of the course but that is to be expected at this time of the year, and it didnt hinder our play at all. There were even buggies put on which was surprising. The 13th was put of play but an almost identical temporary hole was available by the first, so it was a full round. Very welcoming staff and fellow players. Couldn't recommend it enough. We will certainly be back

The membership and course mgmt were great, I found the location off some tees and greens to be too close, never waited to putt when the group ahead tee off over your head!! The layout is tight and some course maintenance is required, some tee shots are blind and the telescopic mirrors aren’t great, with trees over grown etc. Greens were quick, especially downhill!! It was windy which really was challenging, overall a good experience made better by the staff.

After receiving a very warm welcome at the pro shop. We got straight out onto course. Pace of play was excellent. The fairways are in phenomenal condition and the greens are great (but challenging). Good mix of holes. Plenty of challenging trees and green positions. And a friendly reception n the club house after made for a fantastic day, fully recommend.

We played 18 holes for the first time on the course in perfect conditions for the first time. Previous visits had been hampered and shortened by poor weather. The course was excellent with just some parts GUR.

The course offers varying degrees of complexity with a far share of bunkers protecting most greens, some of which are high lipped and difficult to pitch out from. Trees and sloping fairways were a common hazard.

The course is in a beautiful location above Carmarthen with far reaching views. We had a great round of golf on a tranquil day, which we know is a devilish course in poor weather. i My son posted a good score of 89 or handicap score of -3. The least said about my round, the better!

The kitchen was closed on a scheduled down day but the clubhouse and golf shop were open. The only disappointment was closure of the driving range for necessary repairs.

Overall, an enjoyable round on a panoramic course.

We only played 9 holes, primarily due to the weather, but also because the fairways and semi rough spoiled the experience. The fairways had been cut - but were still quite long, but the main issue is that there were grass cuttings all over them - meaning we had to lift and clean all the time. The semi rough was also a little too long - rolling off the fairway by a metre often resulted in us not being able to see the ball - until almost standing on it. As I said - I think the weather conditions were the main reason for not enjoying the course - but I think the course should have been better presented.

Lots of hills and trees to shape an interesting and challenging course. A little tight in places and tees cross over which could be confusing but given the weather recently the course was in good condition and the greens were receptive and reasonably quick.

Very enjoyable afternoon and everyone I met was friendly and helpful and proud of their course.

There was a temporary green and 1 closed hole but overall the course played very well considering it's only been one dry week after a winter of rain! The course is very scenic ( if a bit windy) with 360 views of the Welsh hills. Everyone was super friendly from the pro, the youngsters on the range, the newbie ladies and the bar man. The first time I've seen periscopes on a course - good fun.
