My #1 rated course in Palm Beach County
Banyan Club takes the crown as my number one course in Palm Beach County. The course was in phenomenal shape, which is incredibly impressive given how brutal the summer heat has been. From the moment you arrive, the majestic drive up to the clubhouse hints at just how magical this place is—a true hidden gem tucked away in West Palm Beach.
The practice facilities are world-class, complete with premium Pro V1 tour practice balls. Although the greens had just come off maintenance when I played, they still rolled remarkably true despite being recently punched. Visually, the course is surreal; the vivid red bushes scattered throughout provide a stunning contrast against the plush green canopy. It’s hard to imagine a more beautiful track anywhere else in Florida.
Beyond the aesthetics, it is a true shot-maker's course. Strategic bunkering and water hazards keep it challenging at every turn. I give it a 20 out of 10. If you ever get the opportunity to play here, do not pass it up.
Hidden Gem inSouth Florida
A couple of the prior reviews were obviously about a different course. This is one of the finest courses in South Florida. , a real hidden gem tucked in the southwest corner of West Palm Beach. This is a private golf club with no housing, no tee times and sub-4 hour rounds. This course is in beautiful condition and the greens are near perfect. Friendly staff and finest practice facility I’ve ever seen in Florida. If you’re looking to join a course in this area, you must give this place serious cobsideration
This course had no fairways. All grasses except for the greens were dead.
Used to love playing and was looking forward to the round. Didn't know that banyon was closing this month and being done over by jack Nicholas. They killed all grass except on greens. Was like hitting off of pavement. Some of our foursome aimed for traps rather than non existent fairway.
New Management Keeping it Together
New management planning resort facilities. Pro shop in trailer while clubhouse under renovation. Course seem to be a mix of Bermuda and northern grasses. They have daily times on Lastminute golfer.com that can be a good value; otherwise is expensive. Fairways and greens in good shape.
a Joe Lee gem
One of my favorite courses to play in S, Florida. This private Joe Lee designed layout is truly unique to Palm Beach county. You will not see any homes as you play this superbly conditioned layout. Also, none of the holes parallel each other. Lots of natural foliage adds to the golfing experience.
