I gave the course condition a low rating because of the wasps which made the back 9 nearly unplayable for player safety. I have played the course many times and this was a very unpleasant first time experience. It is hard to focus when there is a real and present likelihood of being stung by multiple wasps …

I’ve played this course several times. It’s well kept and has very friendly staff. However, the course has a major wasp infestation across the entire back nine and parts of the front nine. I have experienced wasp’s stings here before but our recent experience was off the charts. We were literally chased around the course by agitated and hostile wasps. They swarmed our golf carts and made play difficult. Something needs to be done to address the problem.

Course conditions are excellent, although other players need to fix pitch marks on greens. Excellent value for challenging, yet forgiving course layout.

I had no expectations for the course other than playing it how the map showed and I didn’t fight it.

Each hole played true to length and with Stockton being primarily flat I was really surprised with the addition of some elevation changes of 20-50 feet in the fairways. It was almost like the fairways had “bumpers” like a bowling lane. If you hit them high up, you’re screwed. If you hit them mid way, you could see a pleasant kick and get rewarded for submitting to the course designer.

Where I did encounter some problems was if you landed within 1-2 feet of any bunker… holy uncut Vietnam jungle brush YOU WILL NOT GET OUT OF! Not sure if the grounds crew just decided to play games or if the GC really wants you to pay the price but I only tried to recover from it once and got the surprise of my golf career when the ball was basically untouched and deeper second try. If you’re not the Incredible Hulk, you’re not getting out of that mess.

The bunkers on the front 9 were straight mud… not a joke, not an exaggeration, they were legit mud. I told the two gentlemen playing with me that if they went in there, I don’t care if they just chuck their ball into the rough. This was the low point of the whole experience.

Before the round, the driving range was one of the best I’ve personally been on. Pure grass, plenty of flags to aim at, and room for days front to back, left to right. I wish it was closer to me just to use it. For the first time in a long time on a grass range I had a pristine block of grass that was flat and I could read my divots before the round. The only downside was that there were no bag holders or club holders in sight.

One complaint is something I see at so many public courses - poorly maintained bunkers. Some were hard, unrated & wet.

Otherwise, very enjoyable track with excellent pace of play.

Overall great experience, just the greens were beat up compared to yrs past. Ik they always say best greens in the valley, well definitely not yesterday.

This course was very nice and well kept loved my early tee time and pace of play. Definitely recommend the course!!
