Nice layout
Ground was really wet not sure if they over watered it the night before maybe that’s why it was a hot deal unsure but all In all the course is really nice
course is in good condition
course condition and pace of play were good on a perfect Saturday afternoon.
I just wonder where they hide the cows during the day!
It been 10 years since I last played it and it will be another 10 before I play it again.
Love the Greens
Of all the public courses in San Joaquin County, you'll love the greens. Course management and staff do a good job of moving the pins on the undulating surfaces. Have fun!
The course is T I R E D and rundown!
I golfed the course for the first time in 2016. It was green, beautiful, well maintained, and easy to follow hole to hole. When my friend and I golfed the course last week we were both completely shocked. There were more gofer holes than I have ever seen on a course. I twisted my ankle pretty good in one as well. The signs which indicated what hole you were playing and yardage were all mixed up. We got so confused. We spent too much time driving around (luckily we had a cart) trying to determine where the next hole we were to play. The cart paths were overtaken with huge dips and water filled holes. I would have thought they would have filled them with rocks/pebbles. My poor friend had to hold on for dear life so as not to put his back out with the roughness of riding a cart. And speaking of cart, our cart (which was the only 1 to choose from) was low on energy. It took us extra time just to get up hills. I even mentioned to my friend "I hope this cart gets us through the course".
I have to say that although the course was R O U G H and needs a lot of TLC, the guy at the desk was extremely friendly. There was ice water in coolers throughout the course to enjoy as well.
Well Maintained course
93 degrees is hot! and so is playing at Lockeford Springs Golf. There were a good number of people playing but the pacing was relax and I did not feel rushed. So we played well and done in 4 hours. The course is well kept, golf balls were easy to find even if I hit off fairway. Hopefully they'll keep the grass short all the time. Thank you for maintaining your course.
Worth the trip
The course has a great layout with plenty of challenges and scenery. I make the drive from Sacramento for the overall value and accommodating staff. They have one on area restroom that's centrally located within holes 5, 11,and 14 with water buckets @ every 3rd hole. The fairways give you a little fluff under your ball, the traps are decent, the greens show some late summer check marks but generally roll true. They are good size with undulations. You'll surely have some fun putts. The hot dogs are excellent and fairly priced. The beverage cart makes a couple rounds then hangs out in the shade near the rest room in the afternoon. This is a fun and challenging course in the wine and walnut country of the California Central Valley.

Challenging course, change of pace
I like this course despite its location from where I live. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The course was in relatively good shape. Its a long'ish course and appreciate the layout and design.
I'd play again if the price is right.
Fun course/good value
Greens are very slow so you feel like you have to smash the ball, but overall a good course and I will definitely play it again when I travel through the area.
