The Golf Club at Mattaponi Springs

Fantastic layout, friendly staff, high quality conditions. Only complaint would be that the greens were a bit slow and overgrown, but overall great course, worth a drive.

The course is in fine shape. With rains this past month the fairways and greens are healthy. Courses in this area usually suffer later in the summer. But at this time Mattaponi Springs is in peak form. The clubhouse staff are friendly.

This golf course is in great shape, has a wonderful layout, friendly and informative staff, and compared to public courses from Fredericksburg to Williamsburg , I think it ranks as the best for its cost.

Lots of elevation changes, doglegs left and right, yet a good, fair test.

Great course! Awesome staff and beers on ice. The course whipped me, great condition overall fairways and tee boxes , greens were solid 8/1 and undulating. Range is great open space in the pines. Looking forward to having a better day out there in the future.

This course is so much fun to play. Fairways are excellent. Greens are very good.

Late morning weekday a great time to go. Not crowded and good deals around. Staff is always friendly and course was in great shape. Great layout, many challenging holes....

Looks like a private course. Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were in very good condition. It does show some heat stress and winter kill but they are watering and applying treatment to keep well above average conditions. Greens were receptive (some ball marking) instead of bouncing thru. A beverage cart was roaming around as well as course workers. Grassy areas bordering hazards were left at reasonable length to stop mid speed balls from watery penalty but not too thick to hit out of. Food looks good. Hot grill to make some grub. This course has no private residences. It's untouchable within an hour drive.

Wow, is what I said after the 1st 2-3 holes. Course was in great condition. Tee to green. So much fun to play. It makes you think your way around the course. Fairways are open and Zoysia. You have uphill tee shots, downhill tee shots, side hill lies, sloped, rolling fairways. Greens were good pace and rolled smooth. Ladies in the Pro Shop are super nice. Jessica was in the afternoon and could not have been any nicer. The young lady in the morning was equally as nice. You can tell they want to make sure your golf experience is excellent. MJ the golf Director is very nice also. She wants every golfer to feel welcome and has a very good experience. So many holes to mention but 9 and 18 are picturesque! Looking forwarding to playing there again soon! Thanks again for the hospitality. Also, caught up with 2 members who ask me to join the last 6 holes. Tony and Kinnette were very nice and friendly.

This course is in great shape. Fairways are well maintained. Greens are very nice. Not super-fast but they still roll true. They slowed down a good bit on the final six holes due to watering. Extreme drought explains the need to water. This course is a lot of fun to play.

Great value for the money. Worth the trip.

Got to the first tee box on time. There was a group on the green, in the fairway, and on the tee box. Should have just left then. Took an hour to play the first two holes. A “ranger” showed up on the fifth hole and said they would get the problem fixed. That did not happen. The whole round took 6 hours

Had an amazing time on this course, really fun track with fantastic staff. My only gripe was that there was a group of 9, yes 5 carts on a single hole, 2 groups in front of us that didn’t seem to want to break up which made the round longer than expected. There was a group behind us on every tee box, they were walking with the group behind them finishing each hole just as we were teeing off. Staff did come out to talk to them but by 2 holes later they were back to it. Besides that will definitely be coming back
