The Golf Club at Mattaponi Springs

It's funny I've ever seen in my life. Alright, contacted golf now and tried to contact the course immediately and golf. Now tried multiple times to get ahold of the course. To see if I could change my tea time since I got the wrong directions and it sent me to a different course that was an hour away from this course. So hopefully they respond back to me. So I can change my day and perhaps golf there another day. I don't necessarily want to refund. I would like to play the course

Course was in really good condition and greens were very nice. Staff was tremendous and made us feel welcome. Would definitely play there again if we find ourselves in the area.

Course was in good shape considering the rain. Wet in several areas but we were able to drive in the fairways. A few bunkers need some attention but overall a great deal for the money. Staff was very friendly.

We drove down from Richmond for a day out at mattoponi. We were basically the only ones out there and teed off at 10:20. When were making the turn we saw a bunch of carts lined up getting ready to go off. We teed off on 10 and as we’re putting out carts go flying by and 2 groups stop at 11. We went in and asked for a full refund since we expected to play 18 and drove almost an hour. He refused and offered us a 9 hole rain check. We just said Eff it and left. Won’t be back

Outstanding golf course with excellent layout and course conditions. Pace of play was excellent and the staff is always friendly. It's alway great that the practice range is included in the greens fees.

My only negative would be to order new practice range balls.

This place was gorgeous! Wildlife everywhere. Secluded. Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere and put pops a gorgeous course. Hills, ravines, beautiful ponds! Tough course but fun. Only downside to the course is the locals don't fix their divots on the greens. Other than that it's one of the most beautiful places I've been to

I always loved Mataponi golf course. The fairways look really good but it’s unfortunate the greens need help. There are some bare spots and also crab grass growing on greens. If I’m paying over 100$ to play 18, I would expect the greens to be better maintained.

Totally worth the $100 regular rate to play, but I got lucky with an after 4PM special for only $60. The course is very challenging & incredibly maintained. I would highly recommend this course! Bring your A game

This course is in very good shape and is so much fun to play. You get every kind of lie you can imagine. Uphill/sidehill/downhill lies, blind tee shots uphill and downhill tee shots, wide open fairways and doglegs. #9 and 18 are challenging as you are hitting your tee shot into a blind 2nd shot with an uneven lie. Greens were a little slower than normal due to the lack of rain. They had 3-5" of rain the last 5-6 days. The course soaked most of it right up. There was some standing water on 2 holes but that did not affect play at all. I really enjoy playing here. It's becoming one of my favorites and I drive 90 minutes to play there. Very nice staff working the bar. If you are looking for a course fun and in great shape, give Mattaponi Springs a try. You'll be glad you did. Oh, mosquitos can be a problem on very hot days.
