Not worth the money
Boring, dead grass, mossy greens, terrible sand, and wouldn’t play again.
Not very welcoming
Unfortunately, our experience at this golf course was very disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we didn’t feel particularly welcome, which set the tone for the day.
One of the biggest frustrations was discovering that the driving range is for members only, with no clear indication beforehand. There was also no food available on-site, which was unexpected for a golf course and made the experience less enjoyable.
The pace of play was extremely poor. Despite having an allotted tee time, the course allowed four groups of four players to tee off ahead of us, resulting in long waits on almost every hole. To make matters worse, there was no marshal on the course managing the pace of play or addressing the delays.
Overall, the lack of hospitality, limited facilities, and poor course management made for a frustrating day. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t return or recommend this course based on our experience.
Mossack hall
Excellent course to challenge every level of golf, fairways a bit dry but expected with latest weather greens in excellent condition.
Challenging
Loved the course, it was in excellent condition. A credit to the Greenkeepers.
Some interesting holes.
Sadly it was spoilt by very rude members using foul language because a ball had landed 30 yards from them.
Not one member spoke. They clearly don’t like visitors!
Great Course
Love the course, some great holes. Not too hilly. Like most golf courses, just too many on the course. First 9 holes 1.5 hours….wow I thought. Second 9 took 2.5 hours. Insane. Waited at every single hole. Painful.
Really nice course, but currently has holes closed.
Ive played here a number of times and really enjoyed it. It is however worth calling the club ahead of booking, as when I played yesterday 3 holes are closed and it looks like it may be fairly long term work being done. Im a bit disappointed that there was no mention of this ahead of booking.
Golfnow
Booked a two ball on Monday for a round on the Tuesday after I booked i found out that only 9 holes were open due to tge weather I contacted Golfnow and spent half an hour in a queue to be told golfnow would ring me back waited around 4 hours for them to call and they never did so ended up only playing 9 holes for £30 will never book through golfnow again i will book through the club from now on
Freezing confitions
Given the freezing weather this was an enjoyable round. Ground was frozen and temp greens but ball went for miles off the tee. Really nice course even in the bad weather and friendly staff.
Love to come back in summer for a round. Weather conditions didn’t help especially not being able to play on the greens.
Nice course
The course was in very good condition for the time of the year. Staff very friendly and pleasant
Lovely jubley
Had a fab time on the course
Couldn’t have timed it better with the weather being Nice and got round course with no hassle.
The greens was like carpet and everywhere looked well looked after.
Mossack Hall
Lovely course . Greens and fairways in cracking condition for October . Would definitely play again
Great layout
Really nice course love the layout none of this up and down crap you see on some courses. Plenty of water and some really well positioned bunkers make it real test. Course in really good condition and staff really helpful suggesting I take an iron of first and whereabouts to place it … thank you placed it perfectly. Would definitely go again but was slightly more expensive than I’d usually pay.
Lovely course!
This was my second visit Mossock Hall. Last time was late December, so this was my first time playing it in summer condition. What a cracking course! Some genuinely interesting holes, great variety, and beautifully kept. I will certainly be back.
Unplayable greens
As a former member of Mossock Hall I was interested to see how it had progressed since I had left over ten years ago. I played as a 3 ball with two friends and we all agreed that the course was in a pretty terrible state. The greens have some sort of fungus growing on them and when we played they seemed to have been excessively watered, granted it has been hot recently with a lack of rain but this made the greens incredibly soft, so much so that when we played at 3pm there were hundreds of shoe marks on them meaning they were incredibly bobbly and nigh on impossible to read. The club house is and always has been terrible, with facilities likened to a Sunday league football changing room and the bar area being dated. All in all I won't be rushing back in the next ten years to play here again as there are much better courses in the area for the same price
My favourite course in the North West
I’ve only played Mossock once before in December. I enjoyed it then, but my first summer round was an absolute joy. So much so that ny friends and I have named it our “Treat Track” for birthdays and the like.
Nice varied holes. Interesting and challenging. Immaculately cared for.
