West Derby Golf Club

I’m biased for me, scousers are the best people in the world. We arrived and clearly didn’t know our way round. One of the members immediately went out of his way to help and showed me around.

There was a funeral there that day, and you could see the respect for the bereaved party from the staff, and members alike.

We had a great pre game breakfast and then teed off. The course was forgiving but in great nick.

Few beers afterwards on the sunny terrace.

It is not Glen Eagles but we didn’t pay anything like Glen Eagles money and we had a great time on a short but great quality course, in the sun, with good mates, and we felt welcome.

We’d definitely go back and all said we intended to.

Seven golfers travelled from Scotland to Liverpool to play 3 local courses to our accommodation. West Derby was the best by a distance. Great parkland layout, greens a delight and a mixture of short par 3's, longer par 4's and generous par 5's.

If you're in the area, give it a go you won't be disappointed, we loved it.

Everything was fine and the pace of play was great. Played in the week on a nice day but the course wasn't busy. Everyone we met was friendly.

Really nice parkland course. Great variation of holes. Great welcome from everyone on course. Nice and friendly. We will be back. Loved it.

Played there a few times and have had some great rounds. I always try to play when it’s quiet to get the best out of the round and have never been disappointed. Pace of play is great and hardly ever been held up by groups in front. Club has nets to warm up with which are a great addition and really help pre round. Would recommend this to any golfer who wants a relaxing round in a fantastic setting!! Course is kept in fantastic condition too!!

Good course just no chef in for food before or after the round but nice course would recommend

Nice course, nice staff and nice members/players on the day. Never felt pressured or hindered by slow play. Greens in good condition. Overall enjoyable day!

Green unplayable. Full of sand and pitch marks. No signs to show next hole. Very boggy and heavy underfoot even though no rain for a few days
