Great course with outstanding facilities
We played Orchardleigh as a two-ball on a Wednesday morning. We were highly impressed with the course layout, conditions and challenge.
The course was in great condition with a range of challenging holes that test your course strategy. Well placed fairways bunkers and the many solo trees make course management very important here. The greens were in superb condition and challenge your green reading skills with their undulations. The pace of play was excellent and we completed our round in 3hrs 10 mins.
The clubhouse facilities were outstanding. The staff were incredibly friendly and there was a wide range of food and drink available. The seating area was comfortable and we felt very welcomed by all the staff.
I highly recommend this course and we will definitely play here again.
Golf in Somerset
Orchardliegh due to the weather conditions extremely hot tee boxes and greens well watered club house was very well organised had meals all us enjoyed we be back this year
Great Course!!
Great layout- excellent greens - exceptional weather conditions making the fairway lies a challenge.
Once the rain comes this is one of the best courses in the West
Great game for first time
Took a a punt on this course because of it's great reviews, we weren't disappointed. The tee, fairways and greens were all in great condition. The greens were fast. Open parkland style course with some challenging hazards, that didn't make the course unplayable. Some holes were pretty flat others undulating. Forgiving 1st cut, so even if you miss the fairway it isn't a disaster. Great views to surrounding countryside. The clubhouse looked nice, though we didn't spend any time there. Pace of play was so, so as with most courses and not everyone plays the same pace, and with differing numbers. It didn't spoil the day however. We will definitely be back.
Great value and in good condition
Lush fairways and well cut rough. Good greens and excellent bunkers. Superb value. Pace of play dreadful.
Great course
This is a great challenging course, with the dry conditions fairways allow the ball to travel further. Some bunkers are hard sand but back nine are softer overall a great experience and great challenge's.
Worth the trip
Not easy to get there but fabulous value. For a pay and play course (membership is £1) the course is maintained to a very high standard. We found the greens particularly challenging; fast with subtle slopes. Fairways were suffering a bit from thy dry weather.
Challenging but great conditioned course
The course was in fantastic condition. Greens were beautiful to putt on even though the pins were in some naughty places on some greens!
Lovely course to play. Bit hilly in places but lovely views on some holes.
Fantastic course
I love this course, it's in excellent condition, particularly the greens. I have played a lot of courses in Wiltshire and this is by far the best value for money.
Very Dissatisfied
Having not played this course for a while, unfortunately it has gone downhill. Non interested staff, no buggies available, really slow pace of play, poor tee boxes, dirty facilities and to top it off we finished on the 11th after 3hrs.
Greens were good and fairways ok considering the hot weather. The drinks in the bar were reasonable quality and price.
Wonderful setting
Cannot rate the day we had highly enough. Course was in great shape, greens lovely. A few tees very dry but to be expected. Good range of holes with some ‘getable’ par 5. Exceptional value for money at just £25. Cannot fault it
Amazing
Very good. Course was classed as average as we’ve just come from the back of a heatwave so fairway was quite dry but overall very very nice. Pace of play was slow. We were in a cart which obviously sped us up but it was the people in front of the duo in front of us. Very very slow but was very scenic so gave us a chance to drink and eat
