Golfer Reviews
Tee boxes and greens need help..,
Tee boxes are nearly non existent.
Greens are very slow and bumpy.
Good and tough course
Played this course for the first time. Enjoyed playing it and it was maintained well except for many of the tee boxes. If you look past that, it was good. We were waiting to play almost every hole on a Tuesday morning which was a bummer. Overall, good experience and will be back.
Outstanding Golf
Had the opportunity to Cobblestone whilst visiting family in the area. We were over from the UK. The course was great fun to play, some good risk reward holes and the greens will be spectacular once the sanding and aeration is over. The staff were really friendly and price is incredibly good. Hire clubs were good quality. The course marshalls were friendly but could have encouraged all groups to maintain a better pace. It was a great course to play though and we will be back.
Lots of Sand
Greens were recently sanded plus a ton of rain. Tee boxes were in bad shape, but it’s a fun and beautiful course.
Aerated greens and still pristine
I don’t hit many greens so being punched or sandy does not hurt my game. Worth the aerated price!!!!
Stay away until September
Greens were punched this week and there is about six million cubic tons on sand in place. Its literally like putting on a beach. Also - please cut the rough!!! I dont think you guys are hosting the us open any time soon. I lost four balls that were less than 5 ft off the fairway.
Rough
The rough is so tall and thick can't find your ball not the us open!!
Nice course but to many marshals
It’s a beautiful course, but I felt rushed the whole round. Marshals everywhere and they are not as nice as the staff. Staff was great, very polite.
Enjoyed the round
The course had 2 inches of rain the previous 24 hours, yet the crew got it playable by my 8:20 tee time. A few soggy places but otherwise the course was in good shape aside from a few grassless tee boxes. I found the course to be fairly long with lots of undulating fairways and greenside moguls, meaning I had lots of awkward stances. Beautiful setting bordering the lake. All staff was great.
Tee boxes and greens in bad shape
Overall, course conditions did not support the ptice charged. Tee boxes bare and greens had many places where weeds present.
Condition better, but pace slow
I like the shape the course is taking with improvements overall. The pace could be a lot better for a weekday round.
Bad Greens
The greens are holding this place back from being great. I’m not sure what happened but a few years ago the greens were perfect. Now they are so bad. Patchy and very inconsistent. I don’t think I’ll play here again until they are fixed.
Greens Under Repair - Sanded
Greens were under repair but course was in great shape as usual
They warned us, BUT DANG!
Ok so I saw the part that they were aerifying, but for $32 and a week after the initial punch, I didn’t mind it at all! But I didn’t know there were 7 temporary greens in front of existing ones. We are talking about a big circle mown close…..not an actual putting surface. There is new sod areas you need to avoid(lots of them), but even those are a necessary evil. They need to remove a few trees for future grass growth or they’ll be residing again soon. Typical slow round waiting on every shot after three holes, but that’s just typical as this is a tough course, cart paths only and lots of beginners trying to find thier ball. I give the course props for doing what it needs doing and the staff may have changed somewhat cause the service was top notch Georgia friendly…….they had Srixon soft feels for $17.76 a dozen too!! I used to hate the thought of going to Cobblestone to play even though I love the actual golf course. My experience Thursday afternoon gave me new hope and a new desire to come play this great course again! For newbies just keep in mind that this is a very tough test of golf……play your proper tee box! I’m a single digit senior but played the white tees since I played with a up and coming freshman getting started! We had a blast!
Love the course
Greens where recovering but play quite well. Can't wait to play here again. Proshop staff is awesome!
