Golfer Reviews
OK - but nothing to write home about
OK but nothing great. Rate for an out-of-state visitor is better than the ridiculous rate they charge at Torrey Pines or any other better known courses near San Diego- La Jolla area.
Kikuyu will killya
This course is based on Kikuyu grass. Impossible to advance the ball out of the ruff. Period. End of story. They also don't trust their employees enough to allow the acceptance of the US dollar to pay for things. Credit or debit is all they take.. can you say selling your info
Decent challenge
Course in fair shape, some soggy areas, some dry areas, some greens problems showing up. Most negative aspects are the cart paths - in exptemely poor condition. Somewhat pricey for the overall conditions, posted price is walking rate plus cart fee. Nice new carts are getting abused due to the condition of the cart paths.
What’s Happening?
I really like this course but some of the greens have dirt patches and some of the tee boxes were thrashed. the only hole i don’t like is the narrow par 3 on back but that’s on my accuracy more than the layout. food is always good and the staff is always super friendly so i will keep going back. please fix the greens and tee boxes.
Wonderful Greens!
In town for business, got a $45 deal for 3:00, perfect — but with cart and rental clubs, it was $140…not my favorite. Paying more for clubs than the round seems a bit much (although they were nice rentals, Srixon ZX5). With that being said the course was legit great, smooth greens, nice fairways — but most of the bunkers were dirt, like big rocks dirt — head scratcher for sure. Watch out on one and ten as they are both right next to the driving range. Overall, if I had my own clubs with me, well worth the $$$.
The Links at Lakehouse
Great golfing experience. From the check in to the lunch afterward. Tee boxes in great ship, couple need a little work, but nothing to complain about. Fairways were green and well maintained. Greens were tightly manicured and fast. Pace of play was excellent. Employees were helpful, cheerful and provided great service. Though the course is not long, it is challenging and fun. I will be back and I highly recommend playing this course.
Kikuyu Grass
Course was in good condition, fairway bunkers not so, course plays longer than card because Kikuyu grass keeps any shots with height from rolling out much, hit a yard shot of green your most likely not going on. Kikuyu was nice green and thick around greens so chipping was a little challenge having never chipped off tight Kikuyu lies.. Long hitters should have no problem as fairways are wide and for you the course may play short. The two sum I played with both drove over 250 while I am the short 200 guy and was playing for bogy on a lot of holes. It was very busy on a Monday, but we made it just under 4 and a half hours. It is a course you may find much better on the second round as the first time if you have never played a full Kikuyu course it really is different to hit off and into.
Always a good time!
Love the ambiance, love the course, especially 14. San traps need some love. But otherwise, always a good time!
Cancel
I cancelled this round on Golf Now but it did not get cancelled. I give Golf Now and F rating.
Nice Course
The greens were extremly fast. Found the course lovely and challenging. A couple of holes I found less than fair (600 yard par 5 from the white and 570 from gold where we played for, 265 from the gold to clear a lake and sandtrap) but over all I will play this course again. Fairways, greens and practice faucilities are first rate. staff and players both are very friendly too.
Nice track but watch out for driving range.
Me and my girlfriend played here on Monday and although it was busy, the pace was fine. We finished our round in 4 1/2 hours. The fairways are nice. The greens were pretty nice a little bumpy with some dirt patches around the perimeter, but overall, the speed was good and they were in generally good condition. The staff was very friendly. I liked everything about it, my only concern being there were four holes where you could actually get hit by balls from the driving range. It’s almost happened to us on 1. I doubt they have any plans to remedy that, but I still recommend the course. It’s nice and worth the value. I will just recommend that you pay close attention when you’re near the driving range. And enjoy your round.
