What a shame to see this course go downhill so drastically.

It used to be really nice & well maintained now it’s a goat pasture. Actually they could use some goats or sheep to roam around and chew everything down to a reasonable level considering the lack of mowing. Almost lost a ball in the fairway it’s so tall!

Bring a drill or hammer and nail to tee up your ball. Many of the tee boxes are like hardpan and a few are missing the white markers.

I would forgive just about all of that if the greens were good & consistent. But they were like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get. There 2 maybe 3 greens were actually all green & smooth, 12, 17 & 18 I think.

Makes me wonder if they’re letting it go on purpose.

Sad to say but I wouldn’t come back even at $20 - $25 greens fees unless the greens were all like #12.

Even then I would have to think about it.

The clubhouse staff is helpful and friendly, but this is the worst 18-hole course in metro Atlanta. The tee boxes are abysmal, the fairways are dry and uneven, and the greens are nearly unplayable. The course has significant potential, yet the price makes it clear that no revenue is being reinvested in its upkeep.

Terrible conditions at Lake Spivey this weekend. The greens are patchy with bare soil showing through everywhere, and the bunkers are unplayable, weed-filled dirt pits. Total waste of green fees for a course that is clearly not being maintained right now. Avoid until major repairs are made.

Where to begin. Evidently they do not own a mower, sand trap equipment or any type of irrigation. Pace of play was great because nobody was there. Greens were horrific. Nobody working the bar and the pro shop must have had a Going Out of Business Sale last month because all of the shelves are empty.

I play golf 2 times a week and cover a 60 mile radius around Atlanta. First clue- when I pulled into the parking lot there was another golfer that finished the front nine and didn’t bother with the back nine. He was disgusted by the course condition- greens in terrible shape, fairway overgrown and warned me. I’ve played here in the past and like the layout so I wanted to give it a chance. Pace of play was excellent (never ran into another golfer). Greens were in terrible condition compared to other courses in the greater Atlanta MSA. This could be a fantastic course if they fixed the greens

The course is very poorly managed. The tee boxes have weeds as do the bunkers. The greens aren’t green they are black and very patchy. When I first moved to Georgia I played the course and it was good I’ve now given it a couple more tries and it is not worth it. The price we paid is not worth that course. The pro shop has nothing in it to make someone want to come back, no merchandise to support their club.

I normally do not write reviews, but after today I felt like I had to.

I’ve been playing at Lake Spivey since 2022, and unfortunately, I’ve watched the course conditions get progressively worse every year. Today was the final straw for me, and I will not be returning.

For a course charging $57 for a round, the conditions were unacceptable. The greens had large black/dead patches, some areas were extremely wet and muddy, and the tee boxes were so hard in places that it was difficult to even get a tee into the ground. The fairways were another issue entirely. The grass was so high in certain areas that we were losing golf balls in the middle of the fairway.

My shoes were completely covered in mud and grass even though I spent the majority of the round in the fairway. I included pictures, but I honestly could have taken 20 pictures on every hole showing different problems with the course.

What really stood out was that almost every group or player we came in contact with was talking about the condition of the course—and we weren’t even the ones bringing it up. Everyone seemed to notice the same thing.

I understand that weather can affect a golf course, and I don’t expect perfect conditions every time I play. But when you’re charging $57, there should be a reasonable standard of maintenance. I’ve supported this course for several years, which makes it even more disappointing to see how far the conditions have declined.

Unfortunately, after today, I won’t be back.

The fairways on most hole was overgrown and the greens was in terrible condition with no grass or no smoothness at any level.

Greens are not being maintained.

#12 was the best green by far and I had a 1 putt.

Several tee boxes need mowing.

Rough is too high.

Use your $$ to keep fairways, rough, and tee boxes maintained.

Clean up around clubhouse - trim all bushes and get vines growing up on side of clubhouse and in the back removed.

Keep weeds pulled.

This course can be saved using common sense.

I wasted almost 100 dollars but I should've known considering that I was able to schedule a 7:30 tee time the day before. This course is in disrepair. It was a terrible experience, greens were a nice array of lettuce, celery, onions and FN chives, what a disaster. I would never play this course again, even if the tee times were free. Wasted 3.5 hours of my life and because my guest had flown in from out of town and just wanted to get a game in, I liked like a terrible host. IF THEY DON'T GOOD IT, DO NOT PLAY THERE EVER.

Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are terrible. I wouldn’t play this course again if it was free.

Years ago this was one of those courses that you got really excited to have the opportunity to play, but that is not the case now. I have lived two miles from the course for two decades and this is the worst condition I’ve ever seen this course. The fairways hadn’t been mowed in weeks and I found myself spending several minutes looking for balls that landed in the middle of the fairway. They have apparently stopped treating the fairways and they are mostly crab grass.The green on hole 12 was the only green that was actually still alive. There are municipal courses in better shape. Save your money.

In terrible condition for late summer, course was either dry as a desert or swamped out. Fairways not mowed and range was one of the worst I've played. Layout would be fun if the course was in any good condition at all

Course was in the worse shape imaginable. Hard to see how they are still on GolfNow. Fairways not cut, so more like rough. Greens patchy. Tee boxes awful. This once lovely course is clearly being neglected by its owner. And that’s a shame because the layout could make it a standout. Not sure how homeowners whose property values must surely suffer put up with this. Something needs to be done.
