SUGARCREEK
EXCELLENT FACILITY AND CONDITIONS AT THIS COURSE I WOULD RECOMEND TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. I WISH THEY WOULD INVEST IN A LARGER CLUB HOUSE FOR TOURNAMENTS AND EVENTS THE LOCATION IS GREAT RIGHT OFF OF i-285.
VERY slow round
My son and I were behind a group of gentlemen who were playing very slow. Even with their slow pace of play, they caught up to a 5 some of some young men who were playing even slower than them. It translated into my son and I playing 4 hours and a half hours and it was just him and I.
The course is in good shape. We will for sure play there again. It’s not the courses fault that the young men slowed things down like they did.
8/20/2026
Really enjoyed this course, current conditions are great, ground was a little hard the day I played but we booked a time in the middle of the day. Overall greens were in great conditions, fairways were good, some dirt patches on the edges that could be looked at and over grown around creeks that could be trimmed down for sure. Bunkers were okay needed fresh sand but over all definitely worth the price.
I Likee.
20 minutes from the house, close to the interstate. Greens in great shape, fast but not too fast. Lots of trees had been cut since last I played but still manage to hit one or two.
Really poor day of golf
We booked an 11:30 tee time for 4. We were delayed 20 minutes because they had already run out of golf carts. Once we finally teed off, it was easy to tell the day was going to be slow. Our final round time was 5 hours and 40 minutes. There were no course marshals to regulate pace of play. The course was in poor shape. It had rained the day prior, which is understandable, but many bunkers were flooded several feet. Not a single bunker on the course was playable. It looked like nobody raked or tended to a bunker in months. The greens were terrible. The grass was almost the length of normal fairway grass, so putts were rolling insanely slow. Cups were cut extremely poorly with grass and soil falling around the edges. Multiple greens had huge dead spots where it was just dirt and rock. Beyond that, the layout of the course is strange. 3 par 5s where you can’t take more than a long iron off any of the tees. The par 5s all had split-up fairways where you were forced to lay up no matter what. Some of the course’s fairways have massively overgrown trees hanging over the exact spot a tee shot should be placed (specifically holes 1, 2, 5, 7, 13).
Our cart died on hole 16. They were prompt in bringing a new cart, but they need to expand their operations to facilitate the amount of players they cater to. The course is just not a fun place to play under any circumstances. A nearly 6-hour round is egregious. Mismanagement of carts and facilities is obvious. They need serious agronomy help. It’s not even worth the $58 we paid to play, which is relatively cheap for ATL, and even that felt like an overpay.
Best condition ever
Since the aeration of the greens a month or so ago, everything including greens, rough and fairways has been elevated to excellent. The maintenance of the course keeps improving. The only blemishes are the cart paths and bare spots adjacent to them. Hope they have these on their schedule to improve.
Great greens and fairways
The course is in great shape and would recommend it to everyone.
Not a great experience
We had a tee time at 1:00 PM, arrived early but were asked to wait since they did not have carts available.
The cashier let me have some range balls for free and we went to the range which was ok. Mrs. Charly is very nice and accommodating and was trying her best to make up for everything that went wrong that day.
We then started late at 1:20 PM.
On hole 7, our cart broke down- took us 4 calls and 45 minutes to be picked up.
The guy that finally picked us up seemed suprised when we told him that we were very frustrated and wanted our round refunded.
Mrs. Charly then refunded us and gave us a rain check which made up for it.
Great Value.
Most of the greens in surprisingly good condition. Went after a storm and course looked good. Much less mud than expected good drainage.
Narrow fairways cos be accurate. Good challenge place to work on driver.
Excellent round and great conditions.
The course was in great condition. The greens were in exceptional shape. We appreciated the tremendous attention and service by the staff. We will play this course again soon.
Good Muni course
Played there early June. They are definitely trying to grow the grass on the fairways. We had to do cart path only but it wasn’t a big deal. Never too crowded on weekdays. Greens were slow so don’t get used to them. Just use it as a practice round for thirty ish bucks.
Terrible experience
I am an asian and what I experienced here was nothing short of horrific and blatant racial discrimination.
Since it was my first time visiting, I walked into the pro shop carrying my golf bag. A young Black female employee behind the counter completely ignored my greeting and immediately ordered me in a harsh, rude tone to "the bag is not allowed here, take the bag outside." I apologized, explaining that I didn’t know the rules, and immediately took my bag outside.
However, later on, a group of four young local Black golfers walked in—all carrying their golf bags. The exact same female employee greeted them warmly and kindly told them they could just leave their bags in the corner inside the office. Seeing this blatant double standard was incredibly hurtful and infuriating.
The discrimination didn't stop there. While out on the course, a Black male staff member claiming to be a marshal approached me and began barking orders in an extremely aggressive, hostile, and intimidating manner.
While a few other staff members were polite, the treatment I received from the front desk employee and the marshal was completely unacceptable. If you are Asian, I strongly advise you to NEVER visit this place. No one should have to pay money to be subjected to such disgusting bias and disrespect.
