Manchester Country Club

Players who think they can do whatever they want because they have a public membership should spend some money and join a real country club because the average Joe doesn’t need their attitudes. It’s a public course stop acting like you own the joint.

One of the nicest courses I’ve played in Connecticut. Really has a country club feel as far as conditions. My only gripe was had an early tee time and there was nowhere to get a coffee or breakfast sandwich.

This course has always been well maintained every time i go there. Tee boxes are cared for, divots filled and seeded. Fairways aren’t neglected and in beautiful shape. Greens are in great shape, fast enough to roll true but not impossible, and big enough for the most part to receive most approach shots. I look forward to playing here any time I have an opportunity to!

We played this course in early June. Greens were rolling nicely despite a top dressing on the front nine. Very old course that has a ton of history. The layout was solid as were the conditions. We were paired with a few locals players that made the round much more enjoyable as they were able to advise us on some of the blind shots. Enjoyed some food and beverages after the round at the bar. Food was good and the atmosphere was fun. I’d recommend Manchester to anyone looking for a good test of golf near Hartford.

Great course, 1st time there. Layout is somewhat challenging yet, forgiving at the same time. Conditions were great, staff was great, but they need a ranger out there to move the herd along. Cart girls were amazingly beautiful so thank you for that. Lots of back to back par 5's and undulating greens. Remember, if going to play just 9 holes only, you must get a cart because 9 does not connect to club house therefore it's a long walk back. And the 18th is a long par 3 next to the parking lot and clubhouse so all cars are subject to ball hits, so thats a great way to end a round...!

I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend unless he has four hours to shoot nine holes. I understand being busy but it was crowded packed and overbooked. It took 30 minutes to play a hole half of the time in 20 minutes 25 minutes of it was sitting at the tea box. You could never get warmed up. You never can get into your groove. If it wasn’t for the staff in the beautiful course, it would be very, very hard to make a decision to go there with Green’s fee that they charge it is not worth it at all. I can’t express enough. The pace is the slowest I’ve ever dealt with on any course and I’ve played over 50 different courses in the state of CT alone and outside the state hundreds.

I played 9 holes (walking) and while the course played great, I was disappointed that we had to walk back a long way after the 9th hole. In most courses, the 9th hole ends back at the clubhouse but here it doesn’t.

The staff didn’t advise us about the long walk back to the car park either.

Great golf course, my son and I loved it.

I enjoyed playing at MCC, they maintained course very well. I was paired with couple other members, they were friendly and we connected immediately. I enjoyed playing at MCC. My only critic will be if you are playing 9 holes, it will be difficult for one to turn around and walk or ride all the way back to starter.

A nice local course with a great clubhouse. The fairways and greens were in great shape for April. Challenging for a beginner, variety of different hole layouts kept things fun and interesting. Love playing the full 18 here. Like everywhere, tee times were stacked but pace of play was not much of an issue. Got paired with a member and had a great time. One of the nicer places to play in the Hartford area.

First time playing here, and was impressed. Very well maintained especially for this time of the year, and super friendly staff. Will be back for sure.
