Quiet Little Hideaway
This is probably my go-to course. It’s easy to get a tee time, the prices are right and everyone is friendly. Also, it’s not hard to get on base, although I’m sure that’s what keeps most away. They don’t have the biggest budget so the conditioning varies but they do a good job and tend to focus on the greens. If you are after perfect conditions, you can pay much more elsewhere.
Hunter on a downward slide.
Sorry to say but since last year I didn't think it could get any worse, but it did. The beat up greens and concrete like tea boxes only got worse overtime. I used to have a membership here but I can't seem wasting the money on a course that does not make any improvements.
Battle fields
Tees and greens looked as though war games had been played on them. Craters, gofer holes and yet in some places one needed a drill to get a tee in the tee boxes. Uninspiring.
Employees did not like GolfNow
We knew this was a spartan military course, but did not expect the cold shoulder from the employees because we used the GolfNow.com website to book our tee time.
Nice Old Style Course
Narrow fairways, short walk from green to next tee, nice low country views, no houses. Fairways were a bit thin but should recover as summer approaches. Greens in very good condition. Highly recommend for a walk back in golf time.
Good course
Being winter time, course was still in decent condition. Enjoyed my time!
Greens are small and tend to roll off at edges, but in good shape and ball rolls well. Fairways are fairly open, but lined with trees and undergrowth. Errant shots can be costly.
Hunter Golf Course Experience
I was unable to play the course as I needed a security pass to get by security. The guard sent me to a second gate to get a pass, but the system was down and I couldn’t get a pass. Please refund my credit card for $$36.37. Thank you for your help
Good course good people
It’s in better shape than a lot of courses in the area and a good price I’ll be back soon
Great value for the money
Hunter Golf Club is a solid and enjoyable course with great value for the price. The layout is fun for all levels, and most fairways are well maintained. The staff is friendly, and the overall atmosphere makes it easy to enjoy a good round of golf.
However, a few greens could use some improvement, and the course really needs better snack and drink options throughout the round. They don’t sell much on the course, and outside of the oasis water stations, there aren’t many choices available.
Still, it’s a good place to play and one of the more affordable, relaxed courses in Savannah. With a few upgrades to the greens and on-course amenities, it could easily be a 5-star experience.
Army Base golf course - nightmare proceedures
Golf now does not describe this as an army field golf course. Had to go to three different gates to get a pass, which was a 30 min ordeal. Lawn maintenance was up my butt the first two holes, and the course is in mediocre condition.
If it weren’t for the friendliness of Shay at the desk, I would’ve recommended a refund or just cut my loses and went home.
Do not recommend, waste of time.
