Winter Beat It Up
This is a top quality designed course. Would like to see it in the Spring after they get some of the winter damage repaired to the greens. The staff was excellent. Helpful and willing to ensure a good round.
Yikes.
I havent played this course in MANY years.. it was a good course.. well not anymore, this is a dump.... sure it's better than bacon park, but that doesn't take much.
General layout is nice. Only negative was conditions of greens. Lots of dead areas. But I enjoyed playing the course.
Very poor greens
The greens are atrocious, some kind of pebbles all over the greens, completely destroyed areas on most greens. Will not return or recommend to anyone until greens are fixed.
Good, not Great Value Play
The greens were in poor condition with large granules of fertilizer which made putting impossible (2 putt pickup round)
. I have seen the greens in much better condition and I believe this is a temporary situation. Because I enjoy the layout and the staff, I am looking forward to being back there in the spring. I am convinced the greens will rebound shortly.
Greens are unplayable
Driving range, tee boxes, and fairways are fine. The greens are unplayable. Very beat up and not worth paying. I’d recommend finding another course based on the greens. We were in a group of 4 and played at just at 3hr and 45min. We were rushed by the Marshall twice for pace of play which seems a little ridiculous. We suck at golf which is far but a sub 4 hour round seems reasonable.
Fun course to play!!
This is a fair and somewhat challenging course. Greens are still growing back from a hard winter freeze. Club house and restaurant are great! 2nd time playing there.
Sad state of Affairs
I live in Savannah so have played this course multiple times over the past 8 years. We were away this year for 6 months so this is the first time we’ve played here in 2025. This course is in atrociously bad condition compared to its history. The fairways and tee boxes are ok, mostly, cart paths are like tank traps, and the greens are mostly bald spots with no grass, and what grass there is is not being Maintined or rolled. Putting is like trying to shoot marbles over a pebble beach. Absolutely terrible greens and unless you paid $5 a round to play and assumed a two putt in every hole you’d be overpaying. I am not coming back until they put some major money and work into this place. It’s pathetic!
Worst Greens In Planet
I have played this course about 5 times this year since January. Greens had an infestation of poa annua, most likely due to lack of pre emergent. Instead of taking time to correct the error and hand picking the greens, the weeds were left there. Was like putting on a blinko board. Then as the temperature rises and the weeds die, dead spots in the green appear. Maybe they sprayed in the late spring to prevent for next year. But now you have dead spots, large sandy dead stops on the greens. Don't play here unless it's a SUPER cheap deal. It's not worth it. For what this course uses to be, and could be, it's just heartbreaking.
What’s up with the greens
The layout is nice and a good challenge. But good lord those greens look like someone took a tiller to them. They need some serious work.
Course could be good
Greens were horrible!!! Overpriced for conditions of course
Come play here
Great course! We played twice in 3 days. Great layout, condition was good a few greens needed some love but overall great time!!
TERRIBLE
I’ve played a lot of golf at a lot of different courses and this was by far the worst course I’ve ever played at! I’ve never seen a course where every green was infested with bare spots. They should be ashamed to charge people $50. Keep your money.
Surprised!
Picked up the hot deal rate for Southbridgw and had heard really good things about it, but I was a little surprised. One the players in my group gas played there often several years ago, and he was taken aback.by the condition of the course. The greens were already in mid winter shape. This from an area that's had great rain fall and growing conditions. The rough and first cut seemed to have not been cut recently on several holes, or hadn't been cut in a.week. the tee boxes were as tall as the first cut. The golf carts were an absolute disappointment.
The annoying off course beeping and shut down without warning was a complete pain. It occurred more often on the back nine than front. Infact my playing partners had to travel in reverse for over 50 yards on 2 seperate holes. Granted the carts don't have GPS screen assistance, which would have obviously helped in alerting one they were approaching a restrictive area, so why didn't they if they were monitoring location?
Would I play here again? Yes I'd give them another shot. I'd sure like to hear about the golf cart tutorial that i.must have missed regarding the restrictive beeping warning on a non gps assisted cart.
What "hard winter?" The winter from 2022? There isn't anything 'growing' on those greens- they are suffering a slow, painful death!
