A great little course to get in a quick round... Not perfect, but not priced like a pristine course.. Very friendly staff.. The greens were good, the fairways need to grow in a bit.. Overall a fun round..
First time playing course. We arrived at train track one hour prior to our 8:30am tee time so we can hit some balls on range before playing our round. There was a train already stopped over the only entry to the course and at least 8 cars that were already in front of us with their engines off.
We called a couple times to advise club house of the situation but MC has an answering service that fields their phone calls. The answering service has no knowledge of the train or it’s schedule.
I find it pretty poor customer service to not advise customers of this extreme inconvenience. I can not understand how they offer so many tee times that they know will be impacted due to the train.

Don’t waste your money.
This may be the worst courses I have ever played. Fairways were mowed down to the dirt. They greens were burnt and filled with holes and dead spots. If you hit into the rough you better have a good idea where your ball went.
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.

Everything was great. First time but won’t be last time

Decent hidden little gem.
Greens were actually good. Fairways were nice. Will come back.

Tough to find, just your GPS
Gas carts clean not loud
Course has atmosphere
Not a bad place for beginners to play. Greens were in decent shape, but the rest of the course is a work in progress. The staff was nice and they were honest about the shape the course was in.
Hi, We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. We are going to pass on your feedback to the teams in charge so they can work to make changes. We are happy that you were able to make the best out of your round with us, we know the playing field may not be in the best shape right now but that by all means doesn't reflect our course and standards! Hopefully when the rest of the course is up to par you will join us again! Thanks for visiting Mary Calder Golf Club. We hope you'll give us another try in the future.
Hidden little gem on the grounds of a paper mill. The scent of wood pulp is prevalent, but you get used to it. There are great old trees that don't come into play unless you really spray it. Currently, you should take a free drop from the bunkers, but it plays a little easier because of that. Once they are refilled with sane, the course will regain in difficulty.
It reminds me of some of the old courses you used to see on Shell's Wonderful World of Golf. The greens are firm, but very true.

Not only did I get charged but also showed up to a closed golf course with absolutely no courtesy notification. Course is also in very poor condition where you will need an 4x4 just to gain entrance. An goat track for sure that is in desperate need of new management.

The course is positioned in the International Paper entrance. I would recommend not purchasing a tee time before 8am due to the trains blocking the entrance to the course. Friendly staff, just had to wait an hour for the train to warm up. Would recommend if looking for an inexpensive place to play near downtown Savannah and just want to enjoy golf.
Solid course for good play
They had just aerated the greens, but did tell us that up front, and gave a discount for it. For a 9 hole course, it plays well. Some longer holes that give a solid challenge. Not a lot of difficult shots necessarily, but a fun time, quick pace of play, and a good atmosphere
Overall a 9-hole course in poor condition
Staff was great. But there was as group of six (yes- 6) that clogged the course they let groups play through, but once they got near the green you had to wait until they finished
So, overall. Course not in great shape, nine holes . . . I won’t be back
Hello, Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve.Thank you for playing Mary Calder Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
A good day
Played on Christmas Eve. Course was busy early but thinned out in a couple hours. Still a little wet but played ok. More rain coming later and likely will be too wet to play the next few days.
