Ravisloe Country Club

I have played a lot of the top public courses in the Chicagoland. This is the 1st time that I was disappointed in the quality for the cost. The course is not bad, but it's pretty basic for the cost of $125. The tee boxes are average for the back tees, but the forward tees were horrible. The 1st tee box, you have to contend with a trash can which is way too close. The person I was playing with had to avoid hitting the can on her drive. The bunkers are deep and not really maintained well.

The layout is like an old tired country club. A couple decent holes, but nothing that stood out as exceptional in any way.

I would not recommend this course at a price point over $85.

Layout and fairways fantastic. Tees boxes need leveling and some TLC, greens need regular ball mark repair.

Ravisloe is a great course with the exception of a few quirks. Back to back par 5s and par 3s are annoying. Nothing they can do about that. They are doing some upgrades including fixing sand in bunkers which was needed. It is a true test. My only reservation is the cost. I think there are better values out there.

The land and the layout are beautiful to walk and a real test to play. Holes 10-13 might be the best three hole stretch in Illinois. I can’t understand why the owners don’t take better care of this course. Could be best public course in IL if they took better care of it. The tee boxes are embarrassing. The bunkers are very scratchy and inconsistent. The greens can be good or terrible.

Overall the course is pretty good. Conditions were decent, no areas of bad grass, teed and greens pretty good. Some bunkers had little to no sand in them. The clubhouse is beautiful, and it’s a Donald Ross design but is pretty conventional in layout. Range is too short to hit woods.

Not terribly challenging yet a nice layout.. Landscapers were especially courteous and did a great job at clearing leaves during the autumn season. Well manicured course. Really enjoyed it.

First time playing here, course was in great condition, greens were rolling smooth, fairways could use some help in a couple of spots. But expected playing this time of year. Got stuck behind 2 foursomes and slowed pace down, otherwise would have been 4 hr round or less

It's a treat to play a Donald Ross design. Beautiful old course.
