Secretly a challenge
The simplicity of the course is its biggest challenge. Catches you off guard when you miss your target. The thick rough off fairways and cross cuts of the greens is where I fell into it’s trap. But enjoyed every minute of it. I recommend Lindsey for the challenge and well maintained conditions of the course. Hit em’ straight!
come out and have some fun playing golf
course was in good shape greens was a little slow fairway are coming out nicely it would been a good round if i played better still had a good time
Chopper down
We were scheduled to play after the National tournament for all of the chopper groups that were gathered one last time before the programs were removed from the Army. We ended up talking to a few of them and were very nice young men and very respectful. The club pro Chris I think was very helpful in getting us on the course and at one time I lost a fairway headcover and he retrieved it and brought it out to us. Great group of people and very accommodating. The base is actually one of the nicest we have been on and having Fort Knox in one of the golf shots was a plus too. We will be back next year for the National JROTC Challenge.
Clubhouse is closed Mondays.
Love this course, but…..
Lindsey Golf Course should notify Golfnow that Monday’s the club house is closed so walking only.
No bathrooms
This course is usually pretty decent but late fall you can expect leaves to cover much the grounds, including the greens. Also another late fall issue- no bathrooms on the course. The only bathrooms are locked & no port-a-potties available. Posted hours say the clubhouse is open until 5 on Saturdays but at 3:07 all doors were locked prevent access to a bathroom. This isn’t due to the government shutdown either- it happened last year.
Good Course
Lindsey Golf Course is a fun and challenging course to play, and is slightly longer than most of the courses in our area. One drawback is that you have to allow time to get your post access at the gate before your round. This is no problem for those who already have access to post, but could cause you to miss a tee time if you haven’t done this earlier.
Let's go
Play here at least 4 times a month. Great course that is forgiving if you have a slice or draw on a hole.
Call ahead!
It is best practice to call before you book a tee time! They might have the tee time you want blocked off. A quick call will ensure your tee time is not in the middle of a weekday tournament or scramble.
One +3
Fairways getting rough, rough still cut too high Lise a ball .6” off the fairway
Good Track
The Lindsey golf course is located within the Fort Knox base. Come early to get your visitor pass. The course layout is nice. The pace of play was slow. There are several holes which have bells / gongs ring to let the group behind you it’s safe to hit. Unfortunately there is no signage to ensure players are aware of the situation. Overall I would recommend playing this nice track.
Very Enjoyable Round
As previous reviews have stated, staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Course has an interesting layout, that has some good land movement on the interior of the property that creates several very unique holes.
I really enjoyed the unique undulating greens. Many were built up and had a fair amount of movement. Greens were in very good shape for my early season round.
Sand traps
The sand in the bunkers are not maintained well lately and could use some attention. Other than that, course is in great shape!
Great layout.
Course was good considering the recent storms. Pretty tough when playing long. Staff was friendly. Carts are excellent. Warn everyone about possible delays at Visitor Center. Allow an hour before tee time. Putt more if delay is shorter.
Very Good Condition
Lindsay golf course was in the best condition of all the courses that we've played recently. Tee boxes and greens were in great shape and the fairways were mowed. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend playing this course.
