Eldorado
About
Eldorado, located just south of Cadillac, has built a reputation as one of the best golf values in the Great Lakes area. Conveniently situated at the US-131 and M-115 interchange, the course has a scenic northern Michigan setting that is easily accessible. The championship layout sprawls across rolling hills laced with flowering wetland areas. The golf course features elevated tees and generous green complexes with subtle but tricky undulations. Most of the greens are sloped back to front. The opening nine is more forgiving the back. There aren't as many forced carries and you won't be as severely penalized for missing the fairway. Eldorado's final hole is one of the toughest. This par 2 requires a long and accurate tee shot and the approach across a sizeable water hazard leaves little room for error.

Troublesome twosome
I have played this course many times. Today I was a single player following a twosome and a foursome. The foursome let the twosome by as well as both of us singles on hole 8. The problem became the man and woman not allowing either of us singles to play thru. At the turn the other single jumped in front of the 2 some and put many holes in between. I rounded the turn on 10 to find them teeing off. I spent the remaining 9 holes waiting on them every hole. Very frustrated by this husband and wife.
Always a great course.
Play here regularly and marvel at it every time. This is the first year the tee boxes and green need attention. Appears there are alot of players who don't repair ball pivots. That is a basic rule of golf. Carts are nice and definitely fast. Enables a sub 2.5 hour 18 hole round.
Great Course
I loved every inch of the course. Lawncare staff was amazing as we had 7am tee times. They paid attention to us so we didn’t hit them and even helped spot golf balls. Very appreciative
Fun, Challenging Layout in Northern Michigan
Was my 2nd time playing, conditions were good, but 1st time were a little better - they had some issues with clover this time around. Greens were well maintained and pretty quick both times I played it.
Layout is pretty open the first 10 holes, and then the last 8 are very challenging. More forced carries, and narrower tee shots thru the trees. 12 is a long par 3 with a forced carry, and 16-18 is a tough finishing stretch.
Definitely worth a stop if in the area!
Worth the play
Been on my bucket list for a few years passing it all the time driving up north, finally got to stop and play. Course well taken care of, great balance of challenging holes, large well kept greens. Thoroughly enjoyed everything except slow play by 4-5 groups in front - wished rangers kept play moving better. But all the while a very enjoyable play
Awesome Staff…Horrible Pace of Play.
It hurts giving this such a low rating. But the pace of play combined with the pricing, like others mentioned, make this course go from a 4.5 to a 2 at best. I would avoid and just spend more to go to a better course. You’ll get much better bang for your buck.
Nice course
Course in good shape. Would be nice if singles were put wth other singles and twosomes. Two twosomes went off in a row and they did not group them together.
Always nice
This place never disappoints. Always grab a bratwurst at the the turn .
Debacle… staff great
Booked morning of on a hot deal. Took us almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. We waited 10-15 minutes on every tee box to hit. Then waited again for some time for our second shots. We live an hour away from the course and had plans that evening so had to leave. I asked about a rain check for the back as I said the pace of play wasn’t going to allow us to play the back, I was told they didn’t do rain checks, but we could replay the front, and that they had identified the groups slowing everyone down and that their golf pro was out telling them to get moving. Just seemed like a lot of drunken foursomes out playing, which is fine and happens, so maybe just bad luck on our part. We decided to leave. The staff was super nice, and helpful. They’d benefit greatly from having a starter, and rangers moving groups along. Course seemed a little beat up, but as to be expected when you’re that busy, course bridges all need replaced asap.
Needing tee boxes fixed as well as bridges!
Love the course and been playing it for many years but the bridges and tee boxes are beyond the point of needing repaired!b
Eldorado
A nice course. Has 2 eldorado’s in club house. Good food. A lot of play so it’s slow. I can’t think of a really great hole but not a real bad one either. Just a solid course.
Nice course to play.
I love how open this course is. Lots of tee boxes to match your playing level. Course was wet from rain the previous two days, but that's expected in Michigan, especially for such a low lying course. Will definitely be playing there again.
Bridges are in poor condition, but you already know that!
Course and Staff were great. The wood path ways over water and marsh were very scary
Great Visit
Went during mid week, morning, on a hot rate no one around got done in just over 3 hours. Course condition was great, only issue was #16 green being way faster then the rest. Very big fairways and landing areas. Played the power tees but still didn't think overly long, I only average about 230 off the tee. Very playable course for all, will be back to play again.
