The old-timer in the pro shop was about as welcoming as a three putt — standoffish and kind of an B hole. He did assure us the course was in “great shape,” though.

And boy, did it deliver.

Most bunkers were filled with water, adding a nice aquatic element to the round. The greens were burnt, sandy, and rolling about as true as a golf ball through a litter box.

Other than the unfriendly staff, bunker ponds, and greens that looked like they’d survived a wildfire, we had a great time.

Would recommend if you want to play golf, visit the beach, and hit a water park all in one afternoon.

I play this course once a week since moving to Punta Gorda. This is a great course that is close by and is great shape. Challenging design and fun to play. The staff are very friendly and helpful as well. I'm sure in season is not so much fun as too many people will be overtaking it. Great in the summer months though. Thanks Deep Creek Peeps.

A few slower groups in front of me but other than that it was great play.

Greens need time to recover, cost too much to play bad greens!

I wish that when booking on Golf Now they could update course conditions .

Give us the option to play else where . The price had no discounts for its condition.

Over the years, this course has continued a decline in terms of the condition of the course itself. It is obvious they are in desperate need of a proper irrigation system. Thick and green in random areas right around sprinkler heads, and basically a goat pasture in many others, including in the fairways and in and around the greens. You can pipe a drive down the middle of the fairway and be playing your ball out of dirt. End up 5 feet off the green and be chipping out of dirt. It’s rainy season here in Florida with just about every course being plush and Green, and hear this course sits as thirsty as it can be. Also, I booked my tee time in GolfNow and unlike other courses that do so, there was no notification that the greens had just been sanded and we’d be putting through a beach all day once we actually got off of the baron Fairways. It was so bad that for the first time ever, myself, and my playing partner chose to leave after nine holes and cut our round short.

It was my second time playing here and I really like the course. Very challenging and in great shape. Being hot this time of year helps keep the course less crowded. My friend and I had a very good round until a storm rolled in on us which made it easy to hit the nineteenth hole earlier than expected. But a cold beer and friendly bartender made it a pleasant experience.

The first cut is deep cut and hard to get out of if not in fairway and the greens are running fast with green approach very soft. Must be conditioning it for a pro golf tournament.
