Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden
About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

great shape considering little rain
very nice greens were very good fairways very good considering little rain tee boxes just ok a bit rough
Ok layout needs better maintenance
It’s ok the greens are in bad shape however for the most part.
Fun Day
I had a fun day playing at Ironclad.
It’s still very early spring & the course and greens are recovering from winter.
Had to play cart path only because of what the staff said was an overnight frost. I teed off at noon; no sign of frost or any wet areas, but cart path it was
Because the greens for the most part slope towards your approach shot; if you are above the whole you have a very challenging downhill put.
It’s a fun place to play & great value for the $
Ok at best
Saw reviews this was good place …. Buildings are being renovated which isn’t an issue and check were friendly. After that greens had large bare areas of sand, overseed was average, tees had no grass and where they did it was 2-3” long
There was a temp green on the back nine no one told us about.
Was a cold day so we had course almost to ourselves.
Highlight of the day were the tacos. Just go there for tacos great staff and food was excellent!
First outing of the year
Played Iron Clad for the first time this year.
Noticed that hole #1 has been returned to the original alignment, which I like better.
Most greens were in good shape and rolled smoothly. Putting is always more challenging if you are above the hole on these sloped greens. Fairways grass was in decent shape considering it is mid March.
The grounds crew are still working to improve the playing areas as well as surrounding areas and facilities. Kudos to the Iron Clad team!

Fairways are in great condition greens could use help but overall a great experience. Tacos are great after the round
Tacos, friendly staff, good brews. What more could you want?
Had a great time at Ironclad’s course! Beautiful location with a solid mix of hole designs and shot shapes. Greens were a bit slow but we adjusted pretty quickly after the first few holes. Nothing beats their food offerings with having a Shaka Taco attached to the course. Will definitely be back when we come back through the area!
Greens are improving
The fairways have improved dramatically in the past 2 years…the greens have been hit or miss.
One month you play and they are pretty good…the next time they could be in bad shape.
I played in late July or early August and there were 5-temporary greens and some others that should have been. This time there was only one temporary green and a noticeable improvement on most of the other greens, although several spots were still struggling.
