Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden

So, I’ve been going to this golf course since 2009. Really never had an issue until today. My intention was to play a relaxing round by myself. The starter, whom I hope gets fired or quits soon, tried to pair three singles to start at the same time. I express my interest in playing solo and that’s when it went south. She-the person that took my money-got frustrated with me in front of the other 2 solo players, because she was trying to speed up the play—-but nobody was around-it was a slow day!

So, they can have their course, but please don’t ever think a starter on a golf course is going to ruin my days and further.

We have been playing this course on vacation for years. The owner improves it every year. I am not saying it is great or perfect but fits our style of play. We had no one ahead of us and no one behind. It was hot but we had a great time and will play again. For hackers like us we find the course challenging and the staff is nice

There were 4 greens still being repaired necessitating the use of temporary greens.

Most of the other greens were in much better condition than when I played there a month ago.

The greens did roll smoothly.

Fairways were in good condition providing for good hitting. Most fairways were dry even though it was cart path only…a smart move in order to keep them healthy.

Overall, a fun day at the course.

Cutting grass at 8/9am. Leave inches of grass scattered throughout the fairway. Paid for 18 suffered through 9 and called it a day. Didnt send a guy out to blow fairways until 10am. 2 greens on the front weren’t even playable and the holes are in the middle of the fairway! Unless you’re coming to get blackout drunk avoid it. They’re doing a clubhouse renovation before figuring out how to maintain a golf course. I have a 9 hole rain check for sale if anyone wants it, 50% off!

Great layout while challenging to good golfers and friendly to beginners. There is usually a temporary green as they are progressing toward a premier course.

This golf course is horrible. The beer is fantastic. The tacos and the driving range are fantastic. Do not play golf.

This course is currently in a rebuilding phase with the new owners. Each time I go back to play i see dramatic improvement. Still a very fun course to play

Still amazing to see how far they’ve come in such a short time…you will absolutely not regret playing here. It’s not Augusta but you’re also not Tiger…enjoy a beer at rh beer shack or chill at the taco place. New carts and cold beer for a great price.

Few of the greens have diseases, other than that great shape.

For the price ironclad beats any municipal at the same price. arccos users need to know the 9’s are flipped and your map will think #1 is #10. Easy enough to fix in the app and then arccos worked flawlessly.

Been playing this course periodically over the last year or so. Each time I come here the staff is impeccable, food at Shaka Taco is phenomenal and the course gets better and better. Still some temporary greens on some holes and a few tee boxes aren’t the flattest but you can see that they’re addressing these issues. Can’t wait to see this become the best course in the tri-county area.

Unsure what has happened to the greens? There were 3 temporary greens and the grass was quite long making putting irrelevant. The member golfer u was playing with states there was “talk of shutting down 9 holes.” This might help in getting the greens back. If the greens are Bermuda grass there really is not a good excuse as to what happened. Most golf course superintendents would be let go after this. It is disappointing because in May of this year the greens were good and trending in the right direction. Great staff and good layout. For the condition of the course I do believe they should have charged much less for a round. Good luck, hopefully you all can get the greens back before fall.
