Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden
About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

Work In Progress
Course has come long way since last year. Greens 100% better than last year. Sprinkler system installed it appears, all the hard work is coming to fruition.
Great Job!
Great things to come
They are under construction and putting in a new water system which will greatly improve and
Make make the course better. To me, the layout is fantastic, and when they get done with all of the upgrades and improvements, they're making this course is gonna be a gem.
Great fun course
Great job seeing it from beginning till current work being done Major turn around from 2 years ago. Beer garden is amazing and Shaka taco can’t go wrong. Will def be back to play some more
To everyone giving 1-2 stars
You are rating a course that is a work in progress. I get that it’s not the best conditions, but If you are giving these ratings now I would hate to see what you would have said last year or the year before. I believe iron clad brewery bought Belvedere golf club in mid 2020 with the purpose of refurbishing a course so that it wasn’t turned into a neighborhood and to create a fun golf environment everyone can enjoy. The course had sat unmaintained and just left to grow wild for an extended period of time. For people that don’t know, letting a course go for 1 month can cause issues that can take up to a year or even more to reverse. So imagine what a course that was pretty much abandoned for a couple years (I think)would look like. It would had been easier and quicker to completely bulldoze it and start from scratch but that is not very cost effective for anyone. The owners would need to have an almost endless supply of money and that would trickle down to the customer paying outrageous green fees. I played here pretty much right after it had reopened and became playable and have been back multiple times. I knew the back story so I was not concerned about conditions and happily took what was there to offer. Anyone going here to play golf is not there earn a paycheck. So PLEASE stop giving low ratings for a micro brewery that is trying to refurbish a golf course. There is no issue with writing an informative review that will let people know of the conditions, but giving a low rating doesn’t help. It is only going to turn people away and in the long run take revenue, that will definitely be put towards improvements, from something that WILL be a diamond in the rough. What they have done with this course in three years is absolutely unbelievable
Work in progress
Major renovations. Management is trying to bring this course back. Should be looking good in a couple of months. Will play again then.
It was ok
Course is under repair and had to play some temporary greens, was not expecting that. Some greens are ok others are a bit rough. The taco shack made it all worth the while to visit this course. Would play it again but maybe next year when they get the course fix.
Still a work in progress.
They are almost finished with the irrigation project.
The fairways are in better condition and the greens are also improving.
I am pleased with all the work being accomplished.
Fun course!
It was a fun course, cool layout, needs some work but they are making big changes from the looks of it, would love to play there again. Next year this course should be a five star course! Shot my best score ever too! Also the staff should try to be more friendly and beer should be cheaper, may be wise to BYOB
The greens needed some work on from sand and brown spots.
Great Food, OK Course
Shaka Taco on premises is a fantastic restaurant with insanely good food. Take the time to call ahead and pick up at the turn or if it’s a slow day sit down and eat.
Course quality overall is extremely okay. Course is being worked so some holes closed. Greens a bit sandy. Hole 18 hole placement not on a green at all, couldn’t help but chuckle.
This course is very worth the deal price of ~$25.
Supriised with the course.
We were pleasantly surprised with the course conditions since we last played Iron Clad!
Even though there are still 3 temporary greens and one closed hole the greens were much improved. The fairways were also much improved.
They are still adding irrigation to the course which should improve the fairways considerably.
Under Construction
First 9 holes were aerated and 10 was shut down. So all of the players had to cram onto holes 11-18 and 3 of those holes had temp greens. So not a good experience.
Work In Progress
You have to break a few eggs to make an Omlette.
Working hard to upgrade course, sprinkler installation ongoing. Much better than selling to developer to place housing on it.
Nice layout
Really enjoy playing here. Tees & fairways are in very good shape. Greens are a bit slow but in nice condition. Were 3 temporary greens today. Course conditions improve every time we play. Will continue playing here. Thanks to all the staff
Overall
They are putting a lot of work, effort and money into this course. In a couple of years it’s going to be awesome course. I’ll keep playing soon to be hidden jewel. Keep up the good work.
